Marist reports New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand’s favorability ratings are stagnant. If former Governor George Pataki were to run and the election was today Pataki would win.
Former New York Governor George Pataki would be a formidable adversary against Kirsten Gillibrand if this year’s general election for U.S. Senate in New York were held today. 49% of registered voters statewide say they would back the Republican Pataki in this hypothetical matchup while 43% would cast their ballot for Gillibrand. 8% are unsure.
This is a change from Marist’s January survey when 45% said they would support Gillibrand, and 42% reported they would back the former governor. 13% were unsure. …
Then there’s this:
Another surprising number in the survey? Sen. Chuck Schumer’s favorable rating, which was at 51 percent in a pre-Massachusetts special election Marist poll and at 58 percent last fall, is now at 47 percent — his lowest in the poll since 2000. …
If a Republican could win in Massachusetts, anything can happen. Come on New York Republicans – time to step up!

Like the turd in a party punchbowl, the Democrats and especially Liberal Dems, see their numbers dropping. Big Time! The GOP needs to not see this as a victory for them, but a wake-up call to do it right next time they get power…no more 1994.

Why poll Pataki? He isn’t running and would never win. No one wants him back. He’s about as electable as Giuliani. It’s time for change – not a return to to past failures!
