The New York State Senate will take up whether or not to pass a law allowing children to consent to the HPV vaccine without parental knowledge or consent. So, what’s a parent to do if a child comes home with an adverse reaction to the vaccine when they have no knowledge a vaccine was administered?
The bill is S4779/A6792. From the NY State Senate’s website:
TITLE OF BILL : An act to amend the public health law, in relation to providing medical care to minors for sexually transmitted diseases without a parent's or guardian's consent PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL : To ensure that the immunization against HPV is administered to people at a time when it is most effective.
Hey New York State – keep your hands off my kids! I’ll decide whether or not to consent to any treatment or vaccine for my children, thank you very much.
Here’s where you can find your state senator to voice your opinion of this statist intrusion into the life of your child.
I wonder what it cost the makers of Gardasil to advance this legislation this far here in New York?
