Pelosi Sticks By Corrupt Charlie Rangel, Lies for Him

This is so typical. Not only did Nancy Pelosi decide to stick by corrupt Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) she even lied for him.

The Hill: Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she’s once again sticking by embattled Rep. Charles Rangel (D-N.Y.) — at least for now.

Pelosi (D-Calif.) said during a Friday press conference that she had not yet read the full report from the ethics committee, which admonished Rangel, the chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, for improperly accepting reimbursement for two trips to the Caribbean.

“All I saw was the press release where they said he did not violate the rules of the House,” Pelosi said. “And I think that’s an important statement that they made.”

Oh, really?

However, the ethics panel stated that “Representative Charles B. Rangel violated the House gift rule by accepting payment or reimbursement for travel to the 2007 and 2008 conferences.” Pelosi later said Rangel did not willfully break the rules.

Of course Rangel’s blaming his ethics violations of staffers. I guess members of the US House of Representatives aren’t smart enough to figure out ethics. And this is the guy in charge of writing our tax laws.

Charlie Rangel should be removed immediately from his post as chair of the House Ways and Means Committee. Unfortunately, the Speaker of the House is just as corrupt and morally bankrupt as he is.
