How many of you got a pay raise last year? I didn’t. Frankly, I was happy with the pay rate I negotiated when I was hired. I did get a raise in 2008 – last year I was just happy to have a job.
If there are any Americans this year who should be happy to have a job it’s Congressional Democrats. We pay their salaries! Americans are losing jobs left and right. All the while they are drowning our kids (many of whom can’t even vote) in massive debt. And Steny Hoyer doesn’t want to forego a pay raise in the worst recession since the Great Depression?!?
CNS News: House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) rejected the idea of continuing a congressional pay freeze until Congress can balance the budget, saying that it would take “a long time” until the budget might be balanced – too long, he said, for Congress to go without a pay raise.
Speaking to reporters at his weekly press briefing, Hoyer explained that Congress had already frozen its pay by rejecting a cost of living increase. However, extending that freeze was too much for Hoyer to support.
I’ll have you know I messed up one of my newly polished nails to post this. That’s how outraged I am! I think Hoyer owes me a manicure.
Hoyer’s picture should be in the dictionary’ description of “smug”. The smarmy swine makes me nauseated.
