Former President George W. Bush met with former Vice President Dick Cheney at Cheney’s home today. Cheney looks pretty good considering he just had a heart attack. Bush is looking happy and healthy.
“Mr. President, welcome,” began Cheney.
“Lookin’ good,” replied Bush.
“Holding up,” said Cheney.
“Lookin’ good,” said Bush again.
“Could be worse,” said Cheney.
The two then waved to the camera and disappeared inside, where they met for over an hour. Neither camp would comment about what the two discussed.
Cheney and Bush were both slated to attend tomorrow’s closed-press gathering of Bush administration alumni at the JW Marriott in Washington, but Cheney has since withdrawn his attendance because of his health condition.
Cheney invited Bush to have coffee at his home today since Bush was already scheduled to be in town for the Marine Corps University Foundation gala dinner this evening.
I can’t imagine those two putting on a ridiculous dog and pony show the way Obama and Biden did today.

About seventeen years ago I watched part of the Hillarycare Summit. At that time, business owners were invited and did speak there. What torqued me most today were two things: after nearly every point and explanation given by a Republican legislator, the President would say “now let’s get the facts straight” or some such phrase; and, the President said several times that he had spoken to Republicans at that very table and they thought differently before the meeting. The reason I was livid is because the President is well-known to make up facts as he goes on and on and on and on.
I thought we may get through a day when the President did not unleash a rant against the Republicans. However, with Rep. Boehner as whipping boy, he did not fail to do so at the end of the summit.
I was very, very proud of the Republicans. They brought substance and facts to the table and were aggressive about presenting them. I was glad that the Republicans pushed back when the President demeaned each of them after their presentations. The Republicans spoke for the people throughout the day. Too, through the entire day, they mentioned that the American people do not want the Democrats’ bill. Sen. Barraso even tried to teach Mr. Obama about how important it is to listen.
Great day for the Republicans. (And I heard Sen. Alexander tell that they sponsored 139 amendments and proposals on the healthcare bill, but which, of course, were not accepted by the Democrat majority)

I wonder if Cheney’s going to get his own line of ‘Miss me Yet?’ billboards.

I thought of the billboard when I saw Bush wave to the reporters. Heh.

Maybe they discussed the Bush family’s plan to adopt Bill Clinton.
