Secret Admirer?
Hugo Chavez has formed his own “socialist worker militias” in excess of 150,000 members. Socialist “patrols” have grown to 300,000. He says that they’re there to “defend the people”. Yeah, right. It always starts this way and always in the light of “defending the people”. I feel horrified for the Venezuelans. This can be nothing short of a continuous nightmare for small business owners and professionals. Chavez’s armed thugs are meant to keep people and businesses in check if you don’t tow his “United Socialist Party” line. In a few years, perhaps a decade, we could have the equal of the North Korean regime with all the accoutrements including WMDs at our doorstep, gleefully supplied by none other than Mahmoud Ahmadinejad or Kim Jong- Il.
CNS News: In Venezuela today the militias are made up of individual workers who are armed with guns and trained to ensure that their respective companies comply with the agenda of the ruling United Socialist Party.
“With rifles there beside them, in case anybody makes a mistake with us,” Chavez is quoted as saying at a May 2009 socialist transformation workshop where he announced the militias’ creation.
So-called socialist patrols are also growing, with an estimated 20,000 separate patrols totaling 300,000 Venezuelans. Each patrol has an average of 15 members. Castillo said the patrols are “forging the party [United Socialist Party] in the middle of the workers [movement].”
Like the militias, these socialist patrols are intended to allow the ruling socialist government to exert greater control over key industries. However, they also operate in Venezuela’s shrinking private sector companies.
The purpose of both is “production control,” according to socialist leader Castillo, allowing members of the ruling party to wield greater influence in economic decisions.
Every dictatorship requires the essential tool of a politically motivated military enforcement arm. Hitler created his Schutzstaffel (SS), Stalin had the Narodnyy Komissariat Vnutrennikh Del (NKVD), Mussolini had the Milizia Volontaria per la Sicurezza Nazionale (National Security Volunteer Militia) or People’s Commissariat for Internal Affairs, and President Obama has proposed to create a “Civilian National Security Force.”
We are witnessing before our very eyes a neighbor country of the Americas, in our hemisphere, take the path of so many other leftist regimes have in history, only to end up a failed, enslaving, self serving dictatorship.
What is rather astounding is the complete lack of attention our elected officials and the MSM gives to the Venezuelan “transformation”. Why would the leader of the free world, the President of the United States, choose not to identify this as a “crisis”, or make any mention of this in his copious speeches? Free people having their liberty and assets stolen from them by political “brown shirts”, the tool of political thuggery. Isn’t that what the United States speaks up against or do we have a “secret admirer” at the helm? Valentine’s Day is Sunday.
Sean Penn, Danny Glover, Naomi Campbell, Kevin Spacey, and all their fellow ChavezandCastro lovers should be bursting with pride over this “good news”. A good day for Jimmy Carter, too.

The SA are the infamous “Brown Shirts” that helped Hitler’s rise to power.
They were disenchanted WWI vets and thugs who wore leftover brown uniform shirts. Hence the name.
While they maintained a thin facade of legitimacy, the SA was an organization of thugs who main tools were force and intimidation.
I envision Obama’s version to enlist the disenchanted under class overseen by Union thugs and brainwashed college grads.
The founders gave us the Second Amendment for a reason.
