Bring on the Law Suits

You can’t turn your back on these statists for five minutes.

In case you haven’t heard, the Democrats voted on the Slaughter Rule by a vote of 222 to 203 with six not voting.

Good question from Michelle Malkin:

Why did Democrats Jason Altmire and Stephen Lynch, who both have voiced public opposition to Deem-and-Pass tactics, support the Slaughter House resolution?

Good observation from Ace:

“I am getting really worried, because if 222 Democrats voted for this unconstitutional, very-unpopular maneuver, doesn’t that mean that all 222 will also vote for the bill itself? Why vote for this if you’re not going to vote for that?”

Get ready for the law suits.

Regarding Ace’s observation: I think that the Slaughter Rule is supposed to provide cover for wavering democrats, to offer them a way to support Pelosi without having to vote for HCR.

If they go with the Slaughter Rule, they can still answer their constituents, “No, I voted no on the HCR bill”. So they can support HCR with a layer of protection, because they don’t have to tell their constituents that they voted yes, as they would if it came to an up or down vote.

That layer of protection won’t do them much good in November though. Whoever runs against them can still confront them with their vote on the Slaughter Rule.

I read this, just now, a resolution by the Republicans of the House. It is just now being read into the Congressional Record. Follow this link to see the text of the resolution: http://michellemalkin.com/2010/03/18/gop-fights-again-cantor-introduced-privileged-resolution-challenging-slaughter-solution/

222 people who now need to be tried for treason. Pitchfork time everybody. Enough.
