Catholics and Fake Catholics Supporting Health Care Bill that Funds Abortion

Catholic Bishops are against health care legislation that includes funding for abortion. But that doesn’t stop some Catholics from endorsing ObamaCare, which funds abortion, and studies have shown will lead to even more abortions.

Full disclosure, I’m Catholic. But I don’t always agree with the church or some of these Catholic groups. Like health care being a human right. Of course we all have a right to pay a physician for his or her services, but we have no right to compel a physician to treat us for free. I’m all for Catholic hospitals raising funds through private donations to fund care for those who can’t afford it. That’s a good thing. If it’s their position that health care is a human right, fine. Pay for it through charity.

But when they cross the line, endorsing policies that basically steal money from one human being to provide another human being with goods and services, in my opinion they are deviating from the teachings of the church. Especially when they steal money to pay to extinguish the life of another human being. It’s just wrong.

The Catholic Health Association has come out in favor of ObamaCare. (Via Free Republic)

Life News: The Catholic Health Association is coming under fire today for releasing a statement not only endorsing the pro-abortion Senate health care bill but issuing a misleading statement making it appear the bill does not fund abortions. The head of a national pro-life organization disabused the CHA in response.

Sister Carol Keehan, president of the Catholic Health Association, a network of Catholic hospitals, issued the new statement.

“The time is now for health reform,” the statement backing the bill said.

Keehan recalled how, earlier this month, she watched pro-abortion President Barack Obama make the case for the bill and she agreed with him that it deserves support.

Although she admitted the bill is far from perfect, Keehan said the measure, which funds abortions and promotes abortions, “is an historic opportunity to make great improvements in the lives of so many Americans.”

To justify the Catholic Health Association’s support for the pro-abortion bill, Keehan misrepresented the language in the Senate measure the House plans to railroad through its body next week.

In addition to the Catholic Health Association’s endorsement of the legislation, another “Catholic” group is throwing its weight behind ObamaCare. But this group isn’t really Catholic. They’re fakes, but that doesn’t stop NCR from saying a “pro-life group” endorses ObamaCare. Gateway Pundit has the scoop on “Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good.” Hillary Clinton is one of their leaders.

I did some more digging and found this on CACG:

Inside Catholic: Victoria Kovari, the interim president of Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good, claimed, “We share all the bishops’ concerns,” adding that the “difference is [our] feeling that we would be morally remiss if we walked away from all of the health care [reform]. We have to take seriously our call to be about what’s good for the whole human family.”

[...]

Kovari, in fact, does rub elbows with people who know the USCCB from the inside. Her predecessor — Alexia Kelley — worked for the USCCB before CACG. (Kelley left when appointed by Obama to work in the faith-based office of the Department of Health and Human Services.) CACG’s treasurer-secretary is Francis Xavier Doyle, who worked for the USCCB for 24 years. Tom Gehring, deputy communications director, was assistant director for media relations at the USCCB.

In a fascinating article on billionaire George Soros’s funding of Catholic groups, Cliff Kincaid notes that Tom Chabolla, now assistant to the president of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and its representative to the CACG board, formerly worked as associate director for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) at the USCCB (during the period CCHD was funding ACORN.) While at the USCCB in 2004, Chabolla addressed a statewide meeting in Sacramento devoted to “increasing voter participation in Catholic parishes.” In 2008, after leaving the USCCB, Chabolla served on Obama’s National Catholic Advisory Council. (See Frank Walker’s interesting article on other members of the CACB advisory council.)

Isn’t that nice, George Soros, who isn’t even Catholic funds Catholic groups. So it should come as no surprise that one member of CACG, Jim Wallis, is what Stacy McCain calls a Sandinista Stooge who advocated for the “proliferation of communist revolutions in Central America.”

I don’t often question my faith. But my distrust of these Catholic groups appears to be well founded. It’s a good lesson – trust your gut.

Central New Yorkers: I did a quick search and didn’t find any connection between St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Catholic Health Association, if it’s any consolation. I hope I’m not wrong.  I like that hospital.

Final thought – do you think the lefties who rant and rave about the “separation between church and state” will denounce the Catholics and fake Catholics who advocate for ObamaCare?

Find out what others are saying at memeorandum.

Da TechGuy linked – thanks!

Update: A reader sent an email saying that Kelley actually left to go to work for John Kerry. I haven’t verified that information. I had no reason to believe the source quoted above was mistaken.

I don’t think there will be any denouncing of anyone wanting ObamaCare. It just doesn’t work like that in the Democrat party.

About questioning our faith. I think it is always good to questions our churches, no matter who they are. The are run by mortals, even if they don’t know it.

On separation of church and state, did you hear that in the Texas School Textbook conference, one conservative got separation of church and state removed, and bet a liberal a $1000 to his fav charity if he could find it in the constitution:-)

Visited Scott Taylor. Now the kind of candidate to support!

It is possible to get some members of any group to say anything you want them to say. I even heard of an Arab who said he doesn’t want to kill all Americans.

THE current “health care” bill is a boon to the already corrupt American Insurance Industry! It guarantees it additional billions of dollars in profits, if ratified and signed into law! If the bill fails, the lucrative American Insurance Industry maintains the status quo and does business as usual. It is a win/win situation for the American Insurance Companies!
Short falls: the current bill does not address DENTAL INSURANCE needs! It does not address EYECARE INSURANCE needs! Why? That could lesson profits!
What the American nation needs is to do is extend the existing “Medicare” insurance to all Americans! No need for congress to pretend to have to re-invent the wheel here!

    3/08/2010 PART 1:
There is a unity lost between Governing Parties that is needed to help the people feel secure. The moral building block for Health Care.
To see the true Health Care Tax forum you must stop thinking in 3-D,This multi tax forum is against a $100 Trillion Dollar system.. …
To force pay into another system of failures within Health Care Insurance Groups.
This economy will not balance with this concept of a tax forum against the Health Care System. The issue of how to force pay into this system of Health Care may have worked but I am still troubled over the progressive tax forum within this Bill. It covers so many items and Countries that it only forces the system to adjust itself. In some areas, increases against the people and the troubled economy, and in other areas, less effects will be felt.
But this is my big problem, Government Officials seek help and they are to proud to ask us, “the true working force of Government.” It is understandable they have failed the People and within the United States Of America all we ask is to see us as who we are and not try to bring us into this world of the intellectual. I guess our Prime Directive is that of Star Trek, so it must be understood that for millions of people we are just as happy as can be making $13.00 per hour and we have no interest in this world of politics, and how to be a Enstine. Government Officials must understand that there is a level of people within different parts of this Country, that seek to be only that they find to make them happy.
As for this economy well, it is said that the U.S.A. Arms Division has created enough arsenal to destroy every last creature in the world 2 times over, built with tax dollars. This would be funny if not for the irony of it. And now as time has passed Government Officials keep failing. Before 9/11 all the way to today.
As it is in a world of a system, when employees continue to fail, one or two things happen, one; you get fired, two; if you see into a person a good, then it is political correct to implement a penalty or roll back in pay. But this implement of penalty is more favored in the course of action in the Federal Employment World. So how to fix the economy and unite it with the Health Care issue. It would be in the Countries best interest to implement a 10% per cent penalty against every State, County and Government Official within this Matrix of failures. Hey what is that old saying, what is good for the Goose is good for the Gander. I am serous about this, it is past due to show that our Government Officials they have failed, their system failure reaches into this world of warnings that they brush aside as if the information is not worthy noting. From Pearl Harbor to 9/11/2001 to 3/07/2010 of our tax system and Health Care Reform. This 10% per cent penalty should go into the Health Care Forum.
The big problem that Government Officials have is that they have no street credit. President Obama still has some but if he does not take his family and step away from these dueling Parties, that fight over this Health Care Dollar, and stand with Us he will lose all credit from the streets to the county.
President Obama, I would say to you, you have one last chance to regain the hopes and dreams of the American People. To reach out in a concept that states, if there is 250 million people in trouble because of these failures, I would give all my money to them and then I would say to all that I gave money to, “I have no money left, would you all please give me $1.00 back and then I would have $250. million dollars to start all over again.”

As for this $100,trillion dollar in site………….
Results 1 – 10 of about 685,000 for net worth of medicine development industry
Just to show how deep this Health Care Tax split petition reaches. The term split petition is used because of the Tax factor plan that is not seen because of the intent not to show a capital Taxing of close to a $100 trillion dollar package, a yearly system income, not profit…..

Some have stated that I clam to have spiritual in site or something of the sort. I assure you this is not true, so when I state that I asked God to help, it is my way of saying hey Bobby show me how to work on theses Chevy engines. But I do thank you for the consideration. Consider me a cross of Jethro Bodine from the Beverly Hill Billies with my 10th. Grade education and Vin Diesel from the move Pitch Black.

Health Care within a moral value, is to ,
