Senator Harkin told Politico that Senate Democrats have decided to go with reconciliation to ram their monstrosity of a health care bill down our throats. Michelle Malkin reminds us that just a few days ago Harry Reid and Barack Obama said nobody was talking about reconciliation. If you’re in favor of this health care bill, ask yourself this – if they’ll lie about using reconciliation what else are they lying about? Do you really believe health care in America will improve or become cheaper? Do you really want this sort of precedent set to ram through legislation?
If you think “Republicans did it all the time” you’re wrong. The Wall Street Journal pretty much put that argument to rest. This is a complete abuse of power. This morning Peter Johnson, Jr. did a fine job explaining how the Democrats are “short circuiting” the Constitution.
If you don’t believe The Wall Street Journal or Peter Johnson, Jr., listen to what Barack Obama has had to say about reconciliation and ramming major legislation through the Senate on a simple majority vote.

Do you still believe a word this man says? Seriously?
The majority of Americans do not want this legislation to pass. But the Democrats don’t really care about what the majority of Americans want. All they care about is passing their radical agenda while they still have a chance. It’s disgusting. It’s unconstitutional. It’s unAmerican.
Senator John Thune (R-N. Dak.) said the Republicans will do everything in their power to stop the bill from passing.
Republicans are preparing to raise points of order and other roadblocks to the healthcare bill, a member of the Senate GOP leadership said Tuesday evening.
Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.), the fourth-ranking Senate Republican who serves as chairman of the Republican Policy Committee, said the GOP is prepared for a number of scenarios in which they would seek to slow down or halt passage of healthcare legislation once it comes back before the Senate.
“I still think it creates a lot of problems when it comes back to the Senate because there will be lots of points of order that will lie against the bill in the Senate, and obviously, we will, hopefully, have the opportunity to raise some of those,” Thune said of the health bill during an appearance on Fox News. ….
But the Senate Republicans’ options are limited. It looks like the bill will have to be stopped in the House. That’s where you come in, especially if you’re representative is a Blue Dog or part of the Reverse the Vote target list. Hugh Hewitt was kind enough to list them all, along with their contact information. Find your representative, then get on the phone!

It really doesn’t matter now; most of us have just been waiting for this moment knowing it would come to this and nothing less. We can all clearly see the extent to which they will go to force this on the populous. They are absolutely willing to lose their political majority over this one issue. The radical progressives are so close to the vehicle of proto American totalitarianism that they will not relent and will use anything, and I mean anything to pass this bill. Many of the talking heads say that it’s unconstitutional in parts, but to be challenged it first must be implemented and someone then harmed in a special manner. The poll numbers are heavily against this bill, but not as large as they will be in November, retaliating.

Question: Has reconciliation ever been used as a way to avoid taking a bill to conference?
Isn’t that what all these machinations amount to?

Pray for the healthcare bill (and all the Democrats’ agenda) to fail. The Lord works in mysterious ways and has connections we don’t know about. Lift up the Republicans in prayer. Pray for Reid’s and Pelosi’s and Obama’s and all the Democrats’ thoughts to be scrambled, distracted, and confused.
There is no sense in sitting by and saying, Oh my!, when prayers are powerful. And believe He will do it. Has He not been there for us for the last year?

Sir, I didn’t know the Lord was a Republican. I had a pretty clear idea the Lord supported peace, and love, and unity, not party politics… It’s sad to me that you feel you can manipulate the Lord’s holy teachings and Sacrifice to fit your political agenda.

That being said, I do disagree with most of what is being said, but I respect your arguments. I personally believe all Americans should have health care, and the government does force citizens to buy car insurance if they own cars (so forcing them to have health insurance doesn’t seem all that far off). I support Obama, but I’m a little disconcerted with the way his actions are coming off in the media. I really wish there’d be some information about the Healthcare bill put out that’s not been tainted but one political party or the other. I don’t feel the American people are getting a clear view of what’s ACTUALLY in the bill, of what’s ACTUALLY happening with it (between the Republican channels saying “It’s all wrong!! Obama is a monster” and the Democratic channels saying “Obama’s a saint!! It’s all fine and dandy now!”, which is basically what I’m hearing right now).
