Harry Reid Doesn’t Take Dan Riehl’s Advice
ByWhile most of us were sending warm wishes to the Reid family, Dan Riehl said what most of us were thinking. (Cowards!)
I’m not sure I quite understand this, given that cost is so important as a burden to taxpayers when it comes to health care. If Democrats want so badly to abort babies because of it, why are we bothering with someone who has a broken neck and back at 69? It sounds to me like she’s pretty well used up and has probably been living off the taxpayers for plenty of years to begin with. Aren’t we at least going to get a vote on it?
It looks like Harry Reid didn’t take Dan’s advice. Why should he? He and his family enjoy the best America has to offer when it comes to medical care. And we get to pay for it.
CNN: The wife of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid underwent neck surgery Friday after being injured with their daughter in a four-vehicle wreck in suburban Washington a day earlier, her surgeon said.
Since the surgery, Landra Reid, 69, has been able “to get out of bed, her pain is well-controlled and she’s able to swallow some,” said Dr. Elizabeth Franco of Inova Fairfax Hospital.
She can move her arms and legs, but is expected to go through physical therapy before being released in a few days, Franco said.
Harry’s lucky his wife’s accident occurred before he and his comrades screw up health care. I’m not sure what Mrs. Reid’s fate would have been if she had to wait six months for neurosurgery.

[...] I’m happy Mrs. Reid was about to receive some of the best healthcare in the world. A few commentators carried that thought a little further. [...]
Perhaps she would have had to wait a few months for this surgery after about 10 years of national health care in which specialists no longer exist in an industry that penalizes BRILLANCE.
I am a Petroleum engineer. My company spends billions of dollars on my say so. If I screw up they tend to not like that very much. But I also am well compensated for my Masters degree and 30 plus years of experience in finding what we are looking for.
Should I too be paid the same thing as the guy who finds your home to deliver pizza?
Should a Heart Specialist be paid the same thing as a family doctor who treats colds and the flu?
Last year I paid 440,000 dollars in income tax alone. This figure is made up but it is in the ball park because I prefer to remain anonymous until I retire, How much more do they want? According to the center for Tax fairness in order to balance the budget right now I would have had to pay 880,000 dollars last year in income taxes.
Or Double everyones taxes including raising the taxes on a family of 4 by almost 3000 dollars a year just to balance this years budget.
But thats okay. I make over a million a year. They still have over 600,000 dollars of my income available for taxation.
Only in a progressive world.
Only in a progressive world.
Keep up the good work out there Doomed! I’ve got a very OPEC friendly, large truck that’s into single digits when plowing. I only drive it on selected missions, so I could really use some cheaper fuel prices to make it more affordable. Get cracking and make some large reserve finds! MORE QUANTITY!!
My, aren’t you special?
Dan’s just playing by their rules, Alinsky rules. Make them choke on their own hypocrisy. Yes, I pray for Mrs. Reid’s recovery, but she wouldn’t be subject to an actuarial chart that reduces the sick or injured non-politico citizen to a budgetary item since they will be exempted unlike us under “Barry Care”. Grass roots blogs don’t have to be Krauthammerish, dancing the PC line of the DC beltway. If we don’t fight fire with fire, it’s our loss and the country’s.
I noticed that Harry didn’t send them to Canada to avail themselves of their vaunted health care system.
Note to conservatives – if you really cared about the health care system you had 12 years to do something about it that overlapped for 6 years with a Republican president.
And you didn’t do a thing except add an massive unfunded Medicare entitlement program.
It’s too late now to pretend you care about the cost of healthcare, but since that’s your new position you’ll be thrilled to learn that HCR will reduce the deficit and save hundreds of billions of tax dollars.
The only thing that I’m thrilled to learn about you “Get”, is that you obviously have smoked your dinner.

If that is so, it says nothing good about conservatives. The right wing’s approach these days seems to be to ascribe positions to people they dislike ( as in, “Harry Reid wants to institute death panels!”) and use those fictional positions as an excuse for utterly dehumanizing them.
Explaining common decency to people like you is a waste of time.
You people are repulsively sick. Thanks so much for helping those of us on the left by proving to the world what we have always been saying about y’all.
Do you really think we care what the left says about us Joe? Get a grip; we know it doesn’t matter what we say, persuading the left isn’t the point, therefore it doesn’t matter what you say. Now we play by your rules, and I’m sensing you and your ilk don’t like that. Hmmmm.
My thoughts exactly! Heh! When the trolls come ’round I know I must be doing something right. Plus they don’t seem to get that nobody is really advocating euthanasia on Mrs. Reid. Only making a point about the future of health care in America if the progressives are successful in passing this wretched legislation.
We get, perfectly well, what you are saying. Its not that anyone thinks you are actually advocating euthanasia, its that you would try to make a point in the manner you do. What kind of monsters publicly call for euthanasia (even done rhetorically in pursuit of a point) when a man has just seen his wife horribly injured?
Besides, your point is utterly ridiculous anyway. If anything, it is people on the right who feel that healthcare is a privilege rather than a right who are more likely to end up denying health care to those who need it.
*YAWN*
So….wait- who’s being denied healthcare in America? Certainly not all the illegal immigrants who take advantage of medical facilities in border states….
I’m just wondering why everybody (well- not the unions- that’s for sure) is supposed to foot the bill for this wonderful and urgently needed reform that isn’t set to go into effect until 2013.
Wow Joe are you just blind or uninformed? Progressives like advisor to the president Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel (Rhams brother) are huge advocates of rationing, eugenics and euthanasia. The same through history like other leftist regimes under Stalin, Mao and Hitler that killed untold millions. Progressives, leftists and statists are the exact monsters that have been openly advocating these policies since the movement began; it’s who you are. I can assure you that “Dr. Death” Jack Kevorkian isn’t a conservative. Choosing care for your well being is fortunately still a choice Joe not a “right” and I don’t remember anything in our Constitution that forces us to comply. Personally, I really don’t like being told and forced by any means what to do and that I have to pay for not only my own, but my neighbors costs as well.
Harry Reid has the status and the priveledge to ensure that in the coming Orwellian age that his family will have the best of care at the FRONT of the line. Every Democrat on capitol hill pushing this does too. They are not the friend of the poor or the downtrodden. Health care is still nothing but the Democrats pushing their drug of choice…POVERTY……..this time thru health care.
The problem with this health care folks is that those supporting it believe in one thing and one thing only.
I will frame that belief with something I saw on election day 2008. It was CNN panning thru long lines of voters waiting to vote. They pannned to this blond lady. Perhaps 25 years old. She was jumping up and down and repeating over and over and over again…….
“Oh GAWD….I cant wait for Obama to be president…..I wont have to pay my car payment anymore!!”"
Well fast forward to 2010. The camera is panning the line of those who still believe in Barak Obama and they are jumping up and down and proclaiming…….
“Oh GAWD……I cant wait till health care passes…..I wont have to pay my premiums anymore!!”
Obama and the Democrats still have the masses in a state of drunken stupor. That lady still has to pay her car payment and the people will still have to pay their premiums.
The Difference?
This time if you dont pay your premiums you get fined and perhaps even jailed. Welcome to 1984.
If were were surviving under obamacare with influences from Dr. Emanuel..Senator Reids wife would be in a hospice, not a hospital.
The difference is everything.
