Breaking: Health Care Reconciliation Bill Posted – 2309 Pages – Includes Public Option – Updated
ByVia Michelle Malkin on Twitter.
The Democrats posted the whopping 2309 page bill online. Is there anyone out there with a little, or should I say, a lot of spare time on your hands? If so, let me know what you find. It does include the student loan provision – page 2099. I don’t have much time, but see on page four line 17 “Creates a new Health Insurance Exchange, with a public health insurance option alongside private plans.” The meat of the public option can be found on page 116.
No match was found for abortion.
There’s all sorts of statist language, like “ensuring a level playing field.” Let me know what else you can dig up, I have to get up early and go to work in the morning, so I can’t stay up all night pouring through it. Figures they’d release it on a Sunday night.
Update: Read Michelle Malkin’s latest post on how they’re slaughtering the Constitution.
Da TechGuy and Jeremy Sarber linked – thanks. Maggie’s Notebook also linked – thanks! And 101 Dead Armadillos linked, too!
Okay, now I’m going to bed.
Update: For clarification, this isn’t the bill the House will be voting on, or the only bill. They still have to pass the Senate bill that includes the Cornhusker Kickback, Louisiana Purchase, etc. The Hill explains:
The House Budget Committee on Sunday evening released text that will serve as the base legislation for the changes the House will seek to the Senate bill this week.
Specifically, the Budget committee released a 2,309-page effort that had been previously recommended to the Education and Labor Committee and Ways and Means Committee last year.
The measure posted online does not include the substantive changes to the Senate healthcare bill that House Democrats will seek. Those changes will be offered during the markups in the Budget and Rules committees, which the budget panel hopes to begin on Monday afternoon.
The House is expected to approve the Senate’s healthcare bill along with the package of changes. The Senate would then be expected to approve the package of changes under budget reconciliation rules.
Because the bill will be considered under budget reconciliation rules in the Senate, GOP senators will not be able to filibuster the package and Democrats will not need 60 votes to move the legislation through the Seante.
The House has demanded the Senate approve changes to its healthcare bill in exchange for the House voting for the Senate bill.

Karen, thanks for the heads up. Bet you won’t sleep so well!
Well once again I have written all of my rep’s in the District of Cloud’s “DC” and if I can will pick up the phone again and call every last one of them, although we all know I’ll never get them on the phone and a call back is to much for them. Why do we have elected officials in a position voting on what they feel is right and not what there constituents want?
This is awful. They don’t care what any of us think. It makes me sick.
I have been posting all over the internet that they will reconcile the senate bill WITH a public option in place.
There was never any question in my mind they would do this when they started talking about reconciling this bill into law.
So now we can watch roughly 8-12 million Americans who are working for insurance industry slowly bleed and lose their jobs over the coming decade while the US government swells another million jobs to over see their take over of health care as has always been their stated goal.
America is bankrupt.
Alinksy says…..CREATE a CRISIS and then offer to SOLVE the CRISIS.
Health care was no crisis…..but the Dems made it into one. The next step is to watch the crisis take over the insurance companies and the STATES who will be unable to afford the massive new costs put on them by MEDICAID…….
With one fell swoop the Alinskites in congress have created a triple crisis that ONLY the government BORROWING FROM CHINA can solve.
STATES floundering under Medicaid Expansion.
Insurance companies unable to compete with the Government.
Doctors cutting staffing as they take less and less pay for their services….all of which will create a PERMANENT unemployment in this nation of 10 percent.
It is what it is. Progressive LIES.
This is NOT about healthcare….it’s a POWER GRAB

Its true that in polling Americans are against this plan about 45-55.
What this fact conveniently leaves out that many if not most of the individuals in the “against” category are progressives who don’t think the bill goes far enough.
The public option, on the other hand, IS supported by a majority of Americans. Hopefully it will make it in there.
Speaking of pandering to corporations: Where is the outrage on the Right for the Supreme Court decision to allow corporations unlimited donations to campaigns?
I’m specifically looking at you, tea party!
we are witnessing the demise of our freedoms and the USA as we know it. history will not look favorably upon us.
