Here Comes the Slaughter – House Trying to Pass ObamaCare Without a Vote!

They will stop at nothing.

The Washington Post: After laying the groundwork for a decisive vote this week on the Senate’s health-care bill, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi suggested Monday that she might attempt to pass the measure without having members vote on it.

Instead, Pelosi (D-Calif.) would rely on a procedural sleight of hand: The House would vote on a more popular package of fixes to the Senate bill; under the House rule for that vote, passage would signify that lawmakers “deem” the health-care bill to be passed.

The tactic — known as a “self-executing rule” or a “deem and pass” — has been commonly used, although never to pass legislation as momentous as the $875 billion health-care bill. It is one of three options that Pelosi said she is considering for a late-week House vote, but she added that she prefers it because it would politically protect lawmakers who are reluctant to publicly support the measure.

She’s a complete idiot if she thinks a move like THIS will protect her members politically.

Via And So it Goes in Shreveport, Michelle Malkin reports that Republicans are trying to force a vote on the Slaughter rule.

The Wall Street Journal says we’ve entered a political wonderland, where the rules are whatever the Democrats say they are.

The Washington Examiner goes back in time, to when Pelosi joined a law suit against Republicans for such a move they used for minor text corrections. My, how things have changed.

Is the sort of change you had in mind, America?

Scared Monkeys wonders if Nancy Pelosi ever watched this:

Thanks. I’m so mad – this ruined my lunch break. Now Robert Gibbs is smirking through the press conference, waiving off these “legislative games.” What a jerk.

How dare they! They’ll be slaughtered on election day in November. That’s for sure. If Pelosi wants to give the Republicans a veto proof majority next year, let her try this. The veto proof majority can repeal it.

Now it can be official. The House of Representatives can now be called “The Slaughterhouse”. We, the people of the USSA are the ones being Slaughtered. They really hate us.
