Lindsey Graham to Obama: Let’s Make a Deal and Close Gitmo

Washington Post: A Republican senator is offering the White House a deal on terrorism trials.
Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (S.C.) said that if President Obama agrees to try alleged Sept. 11 mastermind Khalid Sheik Mohammed and four accused henchmen in military tribunals, he will press fellow Republicans to vote to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Graham, interviewed Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” said reversing a plan by Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. to try the suspected terrorists in a civilian court in New York would be seen by the public as an act of leadership.

He wants to help the prez. close Gitmo. Why? Now he’s been working with UpChuck Schumer to make an amnesty bill to help Obama keep his promise to his Mexican base, thereby keeping the illegals and their legal friends on Obama’s side, so that Obama can get re-elected. Now, one of our last hopes, Jim Demint is supporting this Obama-saver Rino. Where do we go now?

I’m from SC, and I can tell you this guy will not get re-elected. The local radio, very much like WYSR, people are livid here with Graham.

I hope AJ’s right. As for DeMint – could they be personal friends? If so, maybe that’s why DeMint defends him. Who knows. I can’t imagine DeMint being on board with cap and tax, amnesty and closing Gitmo.

Here lets make a genuine deal and stop stupid politicians from talking.
That prison/jail has been in GTMO for years, your not going to shut it down permanently , it will just disappear from the media and everything will be hush hush till the next times its needed.
