To all you lefties out there, these are the sorts of things we conservatives want to prevent from happening in the US. When it comes to health care, things work for about 90% of Americans. Did you ever stop to think that maybe, just maybe, we don’t have to screw it all up for 90% to help out 10%? Just sayin’….
Telegraph, via The Astute Bloggers: Patients’ groups expressed horror at the “sick experiment” in which NHS managers have agreed to pay £38 for every casualty that ambulance staff “keep out of Accident and Emergency” (A&E) departments after a 999 call has been made.
The tactic is part of an attempt to manage increasing demand for emergency care amid failings in the GP out-of-hours system.
Oh dear. That’s awful. So is this news.
Telegraph: The sick would be urged to stay at home and email doctors rather than visit surgeries, while procedures such as hip replacements could be scrapped.
The plans have emerged as health chiefs draw up emergency budgets that cast doubt on pledges by Gordon Brown to protect “front line services” in the NHS.
Documents show that health chiefs are considering plans to begin sacking workers, cutting treatments and shutting wards across the country.
The proposals could lead to:
* 10 per cent of NHS staff being sacked in some areas.
* The loss of thousands of hospital beds.
* A reduction in the number of ambulance call-outs.
* Medical professionals being replaced by less qualified assistants.
The plans are contained in a series of internal NHS documents uncovered by The Daily Telegraph.
The final details of the plans are not due to be announced until the autumn, well after the country has gone to the polls for the general election.
Weird, that sounds kind of like the Obamacare timeline. By the time the real costs of Obamacare to society are known, he’ll be long gone. But we, and our children, will surely pay the price.
If the progressive Democrats really gave a hoot about the uninsured in America, they could have just done another stimulus program to buy them all insurance. But it’s not about that. It’s about control. History proves that when governments start controlling things there is epic failure. Just look at the two stories above. That’s our future if Obamacare stands.
