A couple of things….alot of the contact forms require you to enter a ZIP code, but one way around that is to enter the ZIP code from one of that particular Representative’s offices in his home district. I also included a boilerplate apology about fudging on the ZIP Code, but how I felt the issue that they were getting ready to vote on was of national significance and I had to speak my piece.
I also provided what I hope was a capsulized version of how I was hit by the recession and unemployed for months on end, thus making me the ideal candidate for 0bamacare IN THEORY before explaining why I was against it (your mileage may vary). Then I politely explained that should this healthcare legislation pass in any way shape or form, I will see to it that myself and my co-workers (now that I’m back working, no thanks to the gov’t) will donate money to anybody running against the Democrats up in this year’s mid-term election and urged them to vote ‘No’, saying that healthcare should NOT be this government’s top priority. I did my best to remain composed and non-partisan, so time will tell.
/So far, I am 1 for 1 in that I made some get-out-the-vote phone calls on Scott Brown’s behalf earlier this year.
