Great job by Jack Cashill in documenting the time line from when the Congressional Black Caucus walked through the DC Tea Party until the McClatchy reporter posted his 800 word article online, setting off a media firestorm.
American Thinker: According to Farrell, they left the Cannon Building about 2:30 PM on March 20th and returned about 3:15 PM. He had no reason to exaggerate.
I asked because at 4:51 that same day, McClatchy reporter William Douglas posted an article on the McClatchy website with the inflammatory headline, “Tea party protesters scream ‘nigger’ at black congressman.”
In other words, Douglas, with an attributed assist from James Rosen, managed to interview representatives John Lewis, Emanuel Cleaver, and Barney Frank, compose an 800-word article, and have it edited and formatted for posting within a 90-minute window.
During that same 90 minutes, Douglas would have received and incorporated a press release from Emanuel Cleaver, making the easily disproved claim that he had “been spat upon and that Capitol Police had arrested his assailant.”
Only two possibilities present themselves, neither of them good: Douglas had started writing this enormously consequential article in advance and/or he assembled it with a reckless indifference to the facts.
Cashill calls this “agitprop,” an old soviet term for the combination of agitation and propaganda. Thanks to You Tube we’re now able to put these lies to bed pretty easily. It won’t stop the liberal media from repeating them, but at least we have the ability to counter the lies with the truth.

You say that as if 90 minutes is a deadline that is hard for a professional reporter to meet.
You claim there is no video of anyone saying Nigger, but what is the first word heard at snipurl.com/teapartynword? And repeated again at 1:35?
That’s the McClatchy site with the post you object to.
Did they say nigger? Look at the signs they carried, I wouldn’t put it past them. Oh, and, since the great majority of the people there were tea baggers, I wouldn’t expect them to post a video using that word.
And whether or not the spitting was acciental you can see the man continuing to shout when he’s confronted. Shout right in his face. When Cleaver said “you spit on me” the decent thing to do would be apologize, not keep shouting right in his face.
But decency is not your stock in trade, is it?
