Here’s a little bit of good news for the end of the week. Cow farts might not cause global warming after all. You can go back to enjoying steak and burgers guilt free. Yay!
The Telegraph: In the past environmentalists, from Lord Stern to Sir Paul McCartney, have urged people to stop eating meat because the methane produced by cattle causes global warming.
However a new study found that cattle grazed on the grasslands of China actually reduce another greenhouse gas, nitrous oxide.
Oddly, the study was done by a fellow named Klaus Butterbach-Bahl. With a name like that you’d think he’d be studying turkeys. But I’m glad he studied the cows. I only hope he’s prepared for the attacks against his character that are sure to come from the global warming zealots of the world.
Oh boy, now I’ll have to do my part making up the difference in the AGW deficit. Wife not happy.
