More Bad News for Young Americans

Sorry kids, I don’t make the policies that make your lives suck. I just try to let you know who does.  Thanks to Obama and the Democrats your only job prospects may be taking up arms in those wars the left had you whipped up in a frenzy over. ‘Cause there aren’t many jobs for you here stateside. Currently, the joblessness rate for Americans under 25 year old is 20%, and the “long term jobless” rate is at a whopping 44%.

Europe’s young have experienced high unemployment for quite some time. Now it’s your turn. Hey, aren’t you the age group that most supported our president in the last election? Are you having buyer’s remorse? If not, you should be. It’s your future he’s destroying.

The Wall Street Journal: Which brings us to the current American presidency. Last March, its admirers proclaimed that the Obama budget drove “a nail in the coffin of Reaganomics.” And replaced it with what?

Mr. Obama spent his first year saving the public economy (the stimulus’s money mainly protected public-sector jobs) and designing a U.S. health-care system led, if not run, by the public sector. The year’s most significant U.S. fiscal policies created an array of new taxes to finance the congressionally designed health system, and raised federal spending to 25% of GDP. Another broad tax increase begins Jan. 1.

The only new-jobs idea the philosopher kings around Mr. Obama have had is the “green economy.” No doubt it will create some jobs. But an idea so dependent on subsidy economics is not going to deliver strong-form employment for the best, brightest or willing and able in the next American generation. The path we’re on is toward a flatter, gentler U.S. economy.

Read the whole thing – knowledge is power. Sure, it’s painful, but there’s no sense sticking your head in the sand.

Oh, and if that’s not bad enough, you can’t even get an internship to bolster your chances of getting a decent job if and when the economy turns around. No wonder they had to put a provision into Obamacare allowing you to stay on your parents’ insurance until you’re 26. They knew their policies would make it impossible for you to find a job so they figured they’d split the difference. Maybe by the time you’re in your early to mid thirties you can start your career.

Well, if you have a lot of drones who think they are
about to get free health care, and it is a Christmas
present from Obama, and people are fainting when he
speaks and getting tingles up their leg, then the
inevitable remedy will be – learn the hard way !
The Brits learned the hard way. They SHOULD have read
    Hayek’s Road to Serfdom.

Young peeps have been indocrinated by the progressives who run academia.

The NEA is more about less work for teachers than a better education for our children.

Anybody here remember Civic Class? Guess what, they don’t teach it any more.

What do the teach? Some feel good non judgmental amiguous fluff….that’s what!

They teach “social studies” and to Physics Nut, no I don’t think Hayek is required reading in American public schools.

Beck had the guts to have David Barton of WallBuilders
on the program going thru the beliefs of the founders
and Lives of the Signers – which every kid in school
used to read. I found a copy for 4 bucks in a second hand
bookstore. Anybody who reads it has a much deeper concept
of what it meant to be a patriot -rather than some cheap
    dictionary definition.
we were required to read Hofstadter about those mean
and stupid supporters of Barry Goldwater. Hayek is much
    better !
