Michelle Malkin’s right, he is a chump!
While at another fundraiser, President Obama thought it would be a good idea to mock taxpayers.
AP: He says he’s been a little amused over the past couple of days when people at the rallies complained about taxes.
Quoting the president: “You would think they’d be saying thank you.”
What planet is he living on? Has he noticed how much money he and his comrades in DC have been spending? How are we going to pay for it?
Newsweek: By all estimates, the budget outlook is daunting. The latest projections of the Congressional Budget Office reckon the cumulative deficits under President Obama’s policies to be $12.7 trillion from 2009 to 2020. In 2020 the estimated annual deficit will be $1.25 trillion, or 5.6 percent of the economy (gross domestic product), despite assumed “full employment” of 5 percent. And the deficits get larger with every succeeding year. Given unavoidable uncertainties, these precise projections are likely to prove wrong. But their basic message seems incontestable: there’s a large and growing gap between the government’s promises and the existing tax base.
How big a tax increase would be needed to close the gap? Well, huge. To put things in perspective, all federal taxes (income, payroll, and excise) averaged 18.1 percent of GDP from 1970 to 2009. Under CBO’s assumptions about Obama’s policies, taxes in 2020 would already be slightly higher, at 19.6 percent of GDP. But on top of that, there’d need to be a further tax boost approaching a third to balance the budget, because spending is projected at 25.2 percent of GDP. Needless to say, this would be the largest tax burden in U.S. history, even including World War II.
I hope this arrogant SOB keeps it up. Let him continue to mock the hard working Americans paying his salary. He’s adding to the ranks of the tea party movement every time he opens his mouth.
November can’t come soon enough.

Update: So, what are we supposed to be thanking Obama for doing?
NRO: Er, no. The federal income tax is unchanged, and some taxpayers got a whopping $13 per week (don’t spend it all in one place!) as part of the stimulus. However, Obama raised tobacco taxes and the health care bill has additional tax hikes waiting to go into effect.
But more importantly, 2009 was a year of record tax hikes at the state and local levels: 29 states enacted tax and fee increases this year that are expected to take almost $24 billion from their residents. Localities raised property taxes and other local fees even more.
He may not have personally raised state and local taxes, but his economy killing, union friendly policies certainly contribute. Not to mention that it’s his party that controlled Congress at the time the economy tanked. It’s also his party that created the mortgage nightmare that’s at the center of the economic meltdown. And let’s not forget they aren’t doing anything about that. They’re just making it worse.
Update 2: According to The Hill, not only is Obama “amused” by the Tea Parties, he couldn’t help but to take a jab at the GOP and the Wall Street fat cats that helped put him in office.
Obama also continued to try to make the case that a vote against financial regulatory reform is a vote on behalf of Wall Street and against Main Street.
“Every member of Congress is soon going to have to make a decision, but the choice is going to be very simple between special interests and the American people,” Obama said.
I wonder what it cost us, the taxpayers who amuse him so, to fly him down there for his angry speech at NASA and his two big fundraisers.

I’m sure he’ll be equally amused in November. Obama is fast becoming the greatest community organizer for true patriots and conservatives, ever. I say let him talk and talk, all he wants to. This week so far he’s angered American taxpayers, government employees (NASA), global allies (Israel), U.S. military strategic nuclear planners and a few more I’m sure I missed, but this man seems to love to bitch slap all the history and sacrifice that he supposedly stands for in office as an American president.
