Obama said “the truest measure of progress is whether or not we’re creating jobs.” What does he have to say to the 9.9% of Americans who are officially unemployed, or the 17.1% who have either given up, or are underemployed? I don’t think they are feeling very encouraged. This new normal really stinks. The scary part is, I think he likes it this way – more Americans dependent on the government.
I think this is what Allen meant by lies, damn lies, and statistics.

It’s an encouraging number based on the socialist economies of Spain and France, where the norm is 20% unemployment.
Also, I heard the total number of jobs created in the private sector was under 100k, not 230k as he said. You know government bureaucracies are being created left and right by this buffoonish imitation of a leader and his cadre of boot-lickers.
