The oil in the Gulf is gushing freely, but that didn’t stop President Obama from hitting the links. I guess he needed to clear his head.
President Barack Obama spent Sunday on the golf course at Fort Belvoir, Va., according to White House pool reports.
The president was playing with regular links partner Marvin Nicholson and two others whose names weren’t immediately known.
First lady Michelle Obama is set to visit the Gulf region Monday for the first time since the BP oil spill began. BP began a new containment procedure Saturday that the company’s hopes will provide a tighter seal around the well leak, but in the meantime oil is flowing freely into the Gulf once again.
The Democrats won’t allow Republicans in congress to visit the region, but Michelle Obama gets a pass. How typical.

Hmm….maybe he could’ve waived the Jones/Merchant marine Act of 1920. Maybe he could’ve accepted some of those offers of skimmers from overseas. Maybe he could’ve attended the memorial service of the men who were killed when the rig exploded and sunk. Maybe he could’ve paid closer attention to that maine factory that said they could produce some 80,000 feet of containment boom. Maybe he could’ve but a ‘boot on the neck’ of the miraculously unaccountable MMS who’s onely response so far has been to rename themselves.

I’m curious as to how many times he HAS been out golfing…seems like he’s always on the links, or spending huge money on some date night with Michelle.
I think, personally, that whatever was “okay” for Bush should be “okay’ for Obama.
