I was listening to Laura Ingraham this morning, and she is not afraid to criticize Michelle Obama. Ingraham contends that Michelle Obama has had a burning desire to be active in policy since day one. Ingraham also believes that, like former First Lady and now Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, Mrs. Obama has her sites set on a senate seat or a governorship. Mrs. Obama’s recent campaign touting all of the “free services” in Obamacare does nothing to dispel that notion.
Via Maggie’s Notebook, The Daily Caller reported:
“For moms like me, it makes our lives easier,” Obama said in the e-mail, which was distributed to the millions of Obama supporters who receive communications from Organizing for America, the group that grew out of the president’s 2008 campaign and is now housed under the Democratic National Committee.
Michelle Obama said that the website set up by the government, healthcare.gov, can help Americans find out what kind of insurance plans are available to them.
The first lady also laid out one of the most detailed itemized lists of benefits from the health care bill to date, previewing a talking point that will undoubtedly feature prominently in many Democratic campaigns this fall leading up to the November midterm elections.
“Under this new law, all new private plans will provide basic preventive services — things like childhood immunizations and checkups, mammograms, colonoscopies, cervical screenings, and treatment for high blood pressure — absolutely free of charge. No copay. No deductible. No co-insurance needed,” she wrote.
Nothing in life is free. And if one person receives something for free, it’s because the rights of another are being infringed upon through taxation. In the case of health care, one way or the other, we’re all going to pay. The Republicans could easily have come up with at least half a dozen talking points to rebut the First Lady. Instead, they chose silence.
Republicans contacted by The Daily Caller were unwilling to respond directly, wishing to avoid a political confrontation with the first lady. But they have said that while providing such services are a good thing in and of themselves, they are not ultimately free because insurance companies will pass on the cost of covering these procedures by raising rates.
Why don’t they just roll over and play dead? They’re surrendering on Obamacare because the president is trotting out his wife to sell his disastrous health care plan to a public that was firmly against it.
Here’s the video of Michelle Obama, and Jill Biden, talking about the “free” benefits in Obamacare. Notice the music in the background, and how FLOTUS said without the sage advice of the pediatrician, she never would have thought to check on the weight of her kids. She’s trying to make women feel like it’s okay to be ignorant, because soon the government will make everything better. What she failed to mention is that BMI is not even accurate for children, or many adults. But soon, the government will know all of our BMIs.
I don’t know, isn’t there anything there the Republicans can criticize? If not, expect Obama to use his wife more and more to advance his agenda. And won’t that be just what the doctor ordered to launch Mrs. Obama’s political career.

“… FLOTUS said without the sage advice of the pediatrician, she never would have thought to check on the weight of her kids.”
Well, at least Hillary is on safe grounds as “the world’s smartest woman”. (Marylin Vos Savant will have to duke it out with her on that account.)
“… basic preventive services — … — absolutely free of charge.”
As they say, if you think health care is expensive now, wait till it’s free. Or at the very least, wait 6 months for an appointment – as they do in Formerly Great Britain.
And doctors will moonlight as librarians.

I would think that the behavior of the Republicans points directly to the mindset in leadership positions. I’m sure a few members would like to be cut loose to publicly “factualize” the administration’s narrative but are not allowed to. Until we see people in leadership positions with the mindset like Jim DeMint, Mike Pence, Jason Chaffetz and Paul Ryan to name a few, there won’t be any “rocking the boat” or even “confrontational diplomacy” on the Republican’s part, just the same ol’, same ol’ from people like John McCain and his buddy Lindsay Graham that should be kicked out of caucus because it makes no difference with those types. Americans are screaming for open political contrast and people like Mitch McConnell and John Boehner to a lesser extent want the homogenous grays and taupe of D.C. Activism is in vogue and November looms.

In other words, until the GOP grows a pair, we’ll get the same milquetoast whimpering we’ve become accustomed to? What a spineless bunch of bastards.

The GOP’s are such gutless wonders they can’t even bring themselves to say that Big O may be a socialist. The”Republican” that ran against him said we couldn’t even mention his middle initial or his favorite preacher.

Because they have actual class and an ounce of respect?
Laura Bush was proclaimed off-limits for 8 years by Republicans yet now they want Obama’s wife to be lambasted and screwed every way possible
Not surprising I guess
