Last week Pete Stark (D-CA) held a town hall meeting, this time he didn’t talk about peeing on constituents legs, but what he did say is even more chilling. An articulate lady stood up and asked Rep. Stark if the federal government can compel one person to provide health care for another, (watch full clip for her full statement/question), what can’t they do. His first response went something like this:
I think there are very few constitutional limits that would prevent the federal government from rules that could effect your private life.
When the woman pressed further, he responded:
The federal government, yes, can do most anything in this country.
Unfortunately, too many of our “representatives” in Washington DC think this way, and legislate this way. They don’t care about the constitution, they’ve scrapped it and given themselves the power to enslave us all to the state.
I don’t know who the woman is who stood up and asked the question, but I applaud her for doing so. No doubt she’ll be portrayed as some sort of right wing extremist for standing up and pointing out the obvious.
