I thought this time of year was supposed to be a slow news cycle. Not in the age of Obama and progressive rule. It’s too depressing to do a separate post for each and every bad news story, so I’m compressing them into one post to retain some sanity.
Obama’s policy of “environmental justice” has found its first victims – the people in Port Arthur, Texas. Read about it at Mind Numbed Robot. (Update) On a related note, read about the collusion between labor, business and the enviro-wackos to limit free trade at the Washington Times.
Congregants of a little church that was destroyed on 9/11 want to rebuild their church. The problem is, New York City won’t allow them to. How’s that for a kick in the pants? Gateway Pundit has the story. (Update) I almost forgot, the Ground Zero mosque people refuse to meet with Governor Paterson to discuss a new site for the Islamic center. Frugal Cafe has the scoop on that story.
Maggie’s Notebook brings us the news of a pipeline from Iran to the US via Venezuela. If only our federal government spent more time worrying about this than they do contemplating suing sheriffs for doing their jobs. Lord help us.
Speaking of lawsuits, the Pacific Ocean wants to sue the Gulf of Mexico over what Smitty calls “Limelight Thuggery.” Not much surprises me any more, but that one came pretty close.
Did you see the photo of Obama splashing in the Gulf of Mexico with his daughter the other day? Turns out it wasn’t the Gulf of Mexico and the photo was taken by a White House employee, not the press. Read all about how Obama’s little propaganda stunt failed on five fronts at Obama Fail Blog.
Now for the good news. Via The Camp of the Saints, Frugal Cafe has an interesting post about the metered park benches with spikes the Chinese government is using to add to revenue. Why is that good news, you ask? Because – Obama didn’t think of it first.

Splish Splash!
Look at the bright side….we didn’t have to see BHO’s pecs.
Now if we could just so something about those ears.
