9/11 – 9 Years Later

I can’t believe nine years has passed since that dreadful day. We were visiting New Jersey at the time and it was such a beautiful morning. Then the images that would remain seared in our minds started appearing. The first plane hitting – the confusion – the second plane – and the horror continuing to unfold throughout that day.

Has any American forgotten where they were that day? None that I know have. To this day, my eyes well up and I get a lump in my throat every time I think about it. I can’t imagine how the families of those who were attacked by those vicious monsters must feel. If you’re one of them, know that millions of your fellow Americans continue to mourn along with you. You’re in our prayers always.

But this is America. Despite the delays and bureaucracy, the new World Trade Center is rising. Shepard Smith has been covering it all week. Finally, we can pay tribute to the brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, children and friends that were lost that day. I know there’s been controversy, but I hope having something there – a memorial to those lost – will help.

Here’s part of the story on what’s happening on that sacred ground today, as well as the story of Roko Camaj. Just by watching the few moments of video of Roko washing the WTC windows you can tell how much he loved life. Roko didn’t come home after 9/11. Roko’s son Vincent said he will feel better, closer to his dad, when the memorial is complete. I pray that’s the case.

I’m going to make it a point to plan a weekend in New York City with my family. One of our sons was just an infant on 9/11/01, the other wasn’t born until a few years later. It’s so important that they know and never forget what happened that day.

God bless America.

I’ll always remember where I was. I watched it unfold and take the lives of thousands of our fellow Americans. I was furious at whoever did it. As time has passed, that anger for some reason has intensified and forgiveness and tolerance is not in my heart. I feel that certain interactions that are normally connected with humanity have not occurred to make that possible.

Maybe we should strap Bloomberg into a chair ala Clockwork Orange and have him watch 9/11 clips on a nonstop loop… if that’s what it takes to protect the graves of the innocent

I am still sickened what happened nine years ago and what is happening today. God bless the memory of those who lost their innocent lives and those who put their lives in harms way to help!

I was six years old at the time. All I remember is that I was pleased that there was no school that day. Many adults had come over to our house and were sitting around the radios and television while my older sister kept us younger kids occupied in her bedroom. When we went back to school our first grade teacher showed us a broadcast of 9/11. I still didn’t understand.
To the firemen, policemen, and voulunteers; Thank You.
    To our servicemen; Thank You.
To those who died; Your memory lives on.
To those who lost loved ones; We pray for you.

    Never Forget.

I had seen that footage from FOX. It’s very encouraging, and touching. Thanks for posting this, and I’ll give you a link.

It is wonderful that finally, the space is actually being worked on. I also want to plan a trip to New York City, LC especially after 9/21/11. Excellent video and thank you so much for the links.
