Ann Marie Buerkle Rally for Victory – 9/17/10 – Updated and Bumped

Update: It didn’t take Dan Maffei long to roll out his first attack ad against Ann Marie Buerkle. So much for running on his record.

Ann Marie Buerkle

I stopped by Ann Marie Buerkle’s campaign office yesterday. Her staff told me about the Rally for Victory scheduled for September 17, 2010 at 7:00 PM. What a nice opportunity to get to know the candidate in the race for New York’s 25th congressional district.

The rally will be held at Driver’s Village, 5885 East Circle Drive, Cicero, New York. Click here to register. The event is free, but I’m sure the campaign would be grateful for any donations received.

Buerkle’s opponent, Dan Maffei has a huge cash advantage. Much of his funding has come from outside our district, and a big chunk of it came from his mentor, the crooked Charlie Rangel. He’s already running ads here in our district, touting himself as some sort of Washington outsider. That’s funny, since the only reason he returned from Washington was to run for Congress.

To learn more about Ann Marie Buerkle, visit her website. You can donate to her campaign by clicking here. I interviewed Buerkle in March, 2010. You can read about that here.

Wow. I have not been this disgusted with one of my elected officials in a long, long, long time. Dan Maffei is a despicable person with zero ethics, zero integrity and every time he lies (which is every time I have heard him speak) I feel sick to my stomach knowing that people actual believe what he is saying.

The only thing that MIGHT be accurate and correct in that video is that she supports either downsizing or abolishing the department of education, which is a legitimate idea since THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION HAS RAPIDLY DECLINED EVER SINCE THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION HAS BEEN CREATED. Education should NOT be functions of the federal government and should be managed by state and local governments. Anyone who thinks that abolishing the department of education is a radical idea knows nothing about education, management, budgets, economics, scarcity, sustainability, or liberty.

Unfortunately, anyone who talks about abolishing the Dept. of Education is accused of wanting to abolish education. It’s outlandish, but too many people buy into it. I do find it interesting that Maffei went negative so early. I haven’t seen a single Buerkle ad on TV. But this is Maffei’s second ad, by my count. The first was positive – Maffei the DC outsider doing great things for our community. What happened, did they hire Frank Luntz and find out the ad wasn’t at all effective (because nobody believed it?) so they decided to start with the negative ads right away?

wow, Maffei as the washington outsider… it would be funny if there wasn’t so much on the line. Maffei is just flat out dangerous.
