With Rep. Dan Maffei (D-NY) and his progressive cohorts in Washington, DC, we certainly aren’t getting much bang for our buck. For example, Maffei recently touted spending $360,000 on some lightbulbs!
Buerkle for Congress: Republican, Conservative and Independence candidate for U.S. Congress Ann Marie Buerkle today criticized incumbent Dan Maffei for touting the expenditure of $360,000 in federal taxpayer stimulus funds to change light bulbs in a local hospital instead of creating new jobs in Central and Western New York.
What’s worse, his job creation efforts sure are expensive.
According to Recovery.gov, over $330.5 million has been spent in NY-25 as of August 24th, creating or supporting a mere 226 reported jobs.
Wow! Where did he go to school? Did he skip Econ 101? Each of those jobs he “created or saved” cost federal taxpayers $1,462,389.38. That’s not even counting how many jobs were destroyed in the process. Come on folks, we can do better than Dan Maffei.
He’s afraid to meet with us. It seems his events are by invitation only. He’s afraid of a repeat of last year, when he got caught with his finger wagging.
