NY Shocker – Joe DioGuardi Now Within a Point of Gillibrand

According to a new poll by Survey USA, Joe DioGuardi is within one point of Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY). It’s a statistical dead heat!

New York voters will, unusually, elect 2 United States Senators in 2010. In the Special Election to fill the final 2 years of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s term, incumbent Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand and former Congressman Republican Joe DioGuardi today finish effectively even, Gillibrand’s nominal 1-point lead being within the survey’s theoretical margin of sampling error. Gillibrand leads in the 5 boroughs of NYC, trails elsewhere. Men vote Republican, women vote Democrat and, in this contest, cancel each other out. Lower-income voters break significantly Democrat. Middle-income and upper-income voters break slightly Republican.

(Notice that the lower income workers are breaking for Democrats. They don’t understand that the Democrats want them to remain poor.) This poll shows Carl Paladino within nine points of Andrew Cuomo.

If New York turns red, does that mean I have to change the name of my blog?

Joe DioGuardi for Senate!

Update: Guy Benson, writing for TownHall, has an idea:

At this point, would it be considered purge-worthy blasphemy to suggest that perhaps grassroots financial support ought to be redirected from Christine O’Donnell to Joe DioGuardi?  (Relax, RINO hunters, he’s one of us).

Even Liberal New Yorkers are starting to grasp a reality.

The Progressive Democrats and Barak Obama want to END THE AMERICAN DREAM….

And CREATE A NEW AMERICAN DREAM.

That new vision is a WELFARE STATE in which they take from anyone earning and give to drug addicts, crack heads, alcoholics, illegal immigrants…….

CREATING A PERPETUAL POVERTY STATE in AMERICA.

Taking all of the classes and putting them into the same class. Which would be fair for most people however…..

Looking at a failing bankrupt America its obvious that the CLASS WE ALL GET STUCK IN IS THE………

    LOW CLASS, POVERTY STRICKEN CLASS.

They do not want to restore the American dream. They want to create a new one and Even New Yorkers get it. Democrats are going to create MORE poverty not alleviate it.

Its their way. Its how they keep power.

I’m in agreement with Doomed. They want the American Dream shifted to their definition via narrative and control. Housing, finance, school loan programs, health care, etc. The American Dream is set up to be one of following your heart and trying and yes, sometimes failing, but the opportunity to try and try again and again as much as you want and if you want has always been there and now in question.

Housing: you have to live where we say and in the type we say or, you’ve already got one; finance: you have enough money and it’s ours by the way; school loans: you’re smart enough or we’ll allow you to have money to go to the “right” schools; health care: well, that’s a no brainer, literally.

The illegals are a readymade bloc of dependent class folks and the progressives will prey on them as a spider waiting for a fly to become snared in its web. Progressives are despicable villains with useful idiot myrmidons in the media, as they will be consumed, categorized and controlled as well.

Name change, LC? How about “The Occasionally Lonely Conservative”? Plusses and minuses to that.

The ruling class elites are out of touch. They discount those who aren’t in their cliche’. They actually believe the average citizen to too stupid to know what the deal is.

They might get over if the unemployment rate wasn’t high and our 401ks aren’t taking losses.

The average citizen isn’t stupid….merely distracted. Well, we’re paying attention now.

What I found most surprising about the poll numbers was among young people. They seem to be moving towards the gop. Lets hope we don’t lose them by November. Western NY seems really ticked off. Lets hope this helps out in the House races. We might finally see the Dems losing some of their grip on NY.
