I can’t pinpoint one specific event that made me, again, ask myself what happened to real men in government. But while thinking about it I was reminded of something I wrote during a Democrat presidential primary debate a few years ago. Not much has changed, so I thought I’d share it with those of you who weren’t aware of this blog back then.
I can tell you where they’re not, and that’s the Democratic National Convention. After a few minutes of watching convention coverage I got bored and turned it off. I put on Man vs. Wild.
Bear was stranded in a fetid swamp in Louisiana . In the time it took Joe Biden to give his speech Bear built a raft, crossed a river, caught a catfish bare-handed, peed on his wounds and found his way out of the swamp. All of that without the help of government. (Unless you count George Bush causing Hurricane Katrina-Bear was able to follow Katrina’s wreckage to safety.)
It’s so much better to watch a manly man doing manly things than it is to watch and listen to a bunch of metrosexuals give speeches about how hard their daddies worked. Have you ever noticed, Democrats rarely mention any hard work they themselves have done? Oh yeah-most of them have never held a real job.
See, not much has changed in the past few years. Other than a rotten economy, a diminished place in the world, and a president who resembles Mary Poppins.

Our side could use a few more good men too, you know…
Palin, Bachmann, Brewer, Cheney… our most principled and brave warriors the GOP has are women, for some reason. And you don’t see these gals flip flopping out of political convenience, do you… c’mon guys, pick up the slack here… where’s your pride!

The real men in gov’t are in the Armed Services.
The rest are pencil necks.
The ruling class elites are punks.

In my many years I have come to a conclusion that one useless man is a shame, two is a law firm, and three or more is a congress.

“Mary Poppins”—thanks for the laugh this morning, LC. I’m with Sam Adams, the ruling class are punks—over-educated, under-LIVED punks.
I’m not a feminazi; I know how to repair, build, and protect a lot of things out of necessity because I am not married. When you’re single, either you pay someone to do those things or you learn how. I know that I am perfectly able to do most (not all) things a man can do. But, NEWS FLASH, I’d rather not. I like having a man open a door for me, protect me from mud puddles, and yet still ask my advice and consider it intelligent and able. When it comes to making me feel secure—in life or in politics–if it’s a man sitting in the chair I’m just going to feel a lot better if he looks like he could take on a mugger instead of jumping behind ME…. I felt pretty secure with W and Dick Cheney. I imagine Barack squealing like a girl and running away…not a confident feeling. They all look and act so…..soft and newly coiffed.
I already decided if we’re all going to have to be Socialists, I want to move to Scotland where they have it figured out already and there are manly men in kilts…
