Mr. LC used to be able to take out the flow restrictors on the “green” shower heads. All it took was a pair of needle nosed pliers and a minute or two of his time. But the new restrictors are built in and almost impossible to remove. Bummer. I guess now there won’t be any way to circumvent the EPA’s war on shower heads.
Regulators are going after some of the luxury shower fixtures that took off in the housing boom. Many have multiple nozzles, cost thousands of dollars and emit as many as 12 gallons of water a minute. In May, the DOE stunned the plumbing-products industry when it said it would adopt a strict definition of the term “showerhead” in enforcing standards that have been on the books—but largely unenforced—for nearly 20 years.
Industry response has been fast and furious. “It was not the legislative intent of Congress to authorize DOE to regulate the bathing habits of Americans,” wrote Frederick Desborough, vice president of California Faucets, a Huntington Beach, Calif., manufacturer, in a letter to the DOE in June.
The showdown is a challenge to President Barack Obama and his energy secretary, Steven Chu, as they try to cajole—or compel—Americans to use water and energy more efficiently. Mr. Chu, a self-described “zealot” for energy efficiency, says he crawls around in his attic in his spare time installing extra insulation.
How nice, Mr. Chu doesn’t even create jobs by hiring people to insulate his attic.
Mr. LC also told me quite a few limousine liberals love having the old “high flow” shower heads in their luxurious bathrooms. I wonder how they’ll feel about their favorite progressives the next time they remodel, and the contractor doesn’t say “Psst! I can remove that pesky water regulator on your shower.” In this instance “Blame it on Bush” may be an appropriate response.
Note to Republican politicians – how many times do we have to tell you to stop reaching across the aisle? Please! Enough!
Get out of our bathrooms!
Exit question: How many of the limousine liberals with the high flow showers thought they were pulling one over on us little people?

Back in the day they made a big fuss and we put bricks in the tanks of our toilets.
If this keeps up the underground economy will pick right up geting use simple things like lightbulbs and bathroom fixtures.

I used to yoink those too, lol- piece of cake!

At the Root of Progressivism is the concept that Americans are gluttons and evil and that we are using up all the resources of the world. What they fail to comprehend in something as simple as a shower is that the water goes down your drain, thru the sewer and back to a water treatment facility and is reused again and again and again.
It is NOT being wasted other then your silly for wanting to spend all that extra money on water in a shower but hey. Thats capitalism.
Same with car washes. The water is recollected from the last wash and scrubbed and reused. This is Capitalism at its finest. But we are gluttons for even owning a car or wanting to have children.
Hence we must push abortions, Gay Marriage and adoptions from nations other then America. We must raise taxes and put the marriage penalty back into tax law. We must encourage the inflow of illegals while curtailing the birth rates of our own nation.
Progressivism is just plain freakin evil and it is radical beyond belief and it is dangerous to mankind. It was in fact the prevailing movement in European colleges that was transported to Russia in the early 1900′s that led to the Russian Revolution.
They are pushing for revolution in America as well and unfortunately this nation is coming very close to rioting in the streets. A couple more years of progressives in charge and we will be rioting in the streets and at each others throats.

Just like the 1.6 liter toilets thrust upon us years ago created black markets from Canada, this will do the same if enacted. You just have to flush twice now instead of once. OBTW, the new green ones have separate buttons for “liquids” or “solids”. I would like to see them installed on the WH roof.

Michigan made my point for me–you just flush twice, shower longer, turn on four lights instead of one, use twice as much “recycled” paper towel. And that’s even if you are, actually, environmentally aware—some things just take more/longer!
Every liberal democrat I know (and I know lots, with money) does things like recycle cans and bottles and newspaper—-and then takes a private jet somewhere overnight just for a ball game and dinner. Think Obamacare is a wonderful thing—but have a physician on retainer at $6,000 a year just to have one in their pocket. And the contradiction just escapes them. Their shower head is one glorious mechanical marvel….but mine should be a “water saver”. I have never in my life seen so much “for thee, not for me” as the current crop of Progressives.

Now, now, Kate. Not only taking our “soft” TP, but only ONE sheet for each bathroom visit, as per Sheryl Crow.

I had one that hardly allowed water to pass through. Had to drill a larger orifice with my drill. Came out real good.

There are on the market what are termed european shower heads; and have been for some time. It’s small but man does it ever have a nice flow. It is invigorating and not wimpy at all. By the way, I lived in Europe off and on for many years in three different countries, and it’s nothing like any shower head I ever used there, in the houses we lived in or any of the hotels we stayed in. So the name is balogna. But it’s a good shower head. That’s all that counts.
