Dan Maffei Hides Behind Lawyers, Tries to Toss Ballots

Rep. Dan Maffei’s (D) strategy for bitterly clinging to the NY25 House seat is becoming clear. He’s hiding behind his attorneys who are doing his dirty work for him. He isn’t having bags of ballots appear, he’s trying to make bags of ballots disappear.

Absentee ballots were counted in Monroe County, and Ann Marie Buerkle’s lead expanded, yet again, over Maffei. Maffei’s campaign calls this good news.

Maffei’s campaign noted that Buerkle carried the 25th District’s three towns in the Rochester suburbs (Irondequoit, Penfield and Webster) by 10 points on Election Day, 55 percent to 45 percent. When the absentee ballots were counted Friday from Monroe County, Buerkle’s margin of victory was less than 2 percentage points.

Well, here’s the kicker – the Maffei campaign challenged about 170 Republican ballots! If those votes were counted, Buerkle’s lead would be closer to the percentages reported on election day. His campaign is also trying to overwhelm the people at the Board of Elections.

State Supreme Court Justice Brian DeJoseph on Friday ruled in favor of U.S. Rep. Dan Maffei’s request that the Onondaga County Board of Elections provide the campaigns with copies of absentee voter records, even though the stack of paper could reach the ceiling.[...]

The board of elections borrowed copiers from two other departments and immediately started to make copies of about 4,000 applications for absentee ballots, the front and back sides of 6,086 envelopes containing the absentee ballots and one page of registration data for each of about 7,000 voters. That amounts to about 46,000 pieces of paper for the two campaigns. The stack could reach 15 feet. The campaigns will be billed 25 cents per page, which could cost as much $12,000 each.

The print version of the article also indicated that Maffei’s team tried to have the Republican at the BOE removed because she objected to this idiocy.

Maffei hasn’t made a single public appearance since election day. He didn’t even bother to attend a local ceremony honoring our veterans on Veterans Day. No wonder he demanded that the press stop reporting on the vote counts. Not only does he not want people to know what he’s up to, he also doesn’t want them to know what he isn’t doing!

Dan Maffei hides behind his lawyers who are trying to throw out the ballots of the people he pretends to represent.

Ann Marie Buerkle attended the ceremony to honor our veterans, and she is now in Washington, DC to attend the freshman orientation. She needs to be prepared, and sooner or later this race will end, despite Maffei’s desperate attempts to drag it out.

Sad how Democrats in many of these contested races are going all out to subvert the will of the people.

Why isn’t Buerkle’s team challenging Democrat ballots at the same rate Maffei is challenging Republican ballots??
If this continues in Onondaga and Wayne, Maffei may take the lead, at least temporarily.

    What does the law say?

Usually the Dems try to work their way around it so “Every vote counts.”

The actual law applies only if it’s in favor of the Dems agenda.

This is not Americanism. This is power hungry progressive gluttony. We are not a complete country and the scourge of progressivism has infected American civility. Political offices were meant to be staffed by the common man, each of us taking turn to do the best we could to better and maintain liberty. Maffei is counterproductive to our founder’s intent. Does that make him unpatriotic?

Mr. Maffei lacks the caliber of a true representative. His actions speaks volumes….if he succeeds in this charade due to his being bankrolled by Soros how will he represent the people? We rejected obama and soros and the progressive marxist agenda 11-2. CNY loses again.
