Politico compiled some of Jared Lee Loughner’s online rantings. Loughner is the man who was arrested for shooting Rep. Gabrielle Giffords point blank in the head, and about 18 others. One of his victims is Federal Judge John Roll who did not survive. He also killed a 9 year old girl. Rep. Giffords is now in intensive care after surgery. (See here for more information.)

“You don’t have to accept the federalist laws,” the video above says; It also insists on the gold and silver standard, talks of revolution, and suggests that the government is imposing “mind control and brainwash on the people by controlling grammar.”buy valium without prescription
His linked MySpace page, no longer available, included statements about the gold standard and about SWAT teams paying for their equipment with illegal currency.buy xanax online without prescription
Among his long list of favorite books in his YouTube profile are Mein Kampf, The Communist Manifesto, Siddhartha.
It appears Loughner has some serious mental health issues.buy xanax online without prescriptionbuy klonopin online
It will be interesting to hear what those who know him have to say. I’m sure in the days ahead we’ll be hearing hearing more about what caused Loughner to go from crossword puzzles to a mass shooting.buy xanax online no prescription
Interestingly, The Atlantic picked up on Loughner noting Mein Kampf is one of his favorite books, and that Rep. Giffords is Jewish. Also at The Atlantic, Andrew Sullivan is trying to tie Sarah Palin to this violent act, but has to admit that Loughner isn’t exactly the Tea Party type. Especially after finding a twitter feed of one of Loughner’s former friends, who describes him as left-wing, a political radical, anti-flag and a pot head. She also said he had met Giffords before and called her stupid. He certainly doesn’t sound like a political conservative. It sounds like he’s always been kind of weird, and perhaps had some kind of psychotic break. We’ll find out soon enough.ambien online no prescription

Beyond the general incoherence, the evidence of mental illness in the video text includes psychological projection: While Loughner commits numerous errors of vocabulary and syntax (e.g., “conscience dreaming” instead of “conscious dreaming”) he nonetheless denounces the “majority of people” who “are illiterate.” This suggests grandiosity and scapegoating, both symptomatic of paranoia.valium online without prescription
I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if it turns out that Loughner had previously been treated for mental illness.
I’d be surprised if Loughner doesn’t enter an insanity plea.
Update 2: Michelle Malkin has more on how the left is already blaming this horrific crime on Sarah Palin and the Tea Party.
The Smoking Gun posted this photo of Loughner.
Update 4: Via Fox News, here’s a 2006 yearbook photo of Loughner.
It’s weird – he looks almost like a different person in each photo.
First, it is sad to see folks immediately politicize such a tragedy. If your first response to such an event is to think of Sarah Palin, something is wrong.
Like it or not, the sort of rhetoric and imagery employed by Palin’s PAC is not terribly unusual. Politicians constantly talk about “targeting” voters — does anyone think they want to shootthem? Political consultants tell politicians to “hunt where the ducks are, ” but they certainly don’t mean to shoot voters. Ironically, Moulitsas has also previously urged his readers to “target” Giffords and put a “bulls eye” on her district because she “sold out the Constitution…”
To be sure, it is possible for a politician to use words to incite violence, but putting a target on a congressional district is clearly not an example of that.
Our culture is full of rhetoric that uses violent analogies for everyday events. …
Update 6: A reader emailed wondering, after reading Loughner’s psychotic ramblings if something happened at the Pima Community College that may have sent him over the edge.
Update 7: The Arizona Daily Star reports that a fellow student at the community college said Loughner was “very disturbed” and often rambled nonsensically in class.
Also, I saw on twitter, though there was no link to confirm it, that Judge Roll had attended mass this morning and decided to stop by the “Congressman on Your Corner” event to say hello to Rep. Giffords. What a sad fate for Judge Roll, and everyone else harmed by this deranged lunatic.
Update 8: Just to clarify – although there is evidence that Loughner’s political ideology may have at some point been liberal, I don’t believe his political ideology had anything to do with these heinous acts. At least based on the limited information we have. It’s obvious, though, that he is seriously mentally ill.
It’s just outrageous that some on the left would use this horrific crime to advance their own agenda.
Update 9: For those who argue that this was a politically motivated crime, they may be looking in the wrong direction. It wasn’t a right winger who recently wrote that Congresswoman Giffords is dead to him. While conservatives have been praying for Congresswoman Giffords, the left has been spewing hate and vitriol.
Update 10: The police believe Loughner may have had an accomplice. Follow the link for a photo of the man.
