Sorry, that was a silly question. I pay my own electric bill. Oh wait, I pay theirs, too. At least in the buildings where they leave the lights on all night.
Do you leave your lights on all night long? I don’t, other than little night lights. (We have kids.) We’re constantly told by federal bureaucrats to “go green,” yet they leave their lights on all night. And we’re footing the bill. Watch this report to find out just how much it’s costing us to pay their electric bills. It’s not chump change, that’s for sure. Watch until the end – one of the biggest offenders is the Environmental Protection Agency. Think about that when your incandescent light bulbs are banned.

Yeah, but conserving to the point of deprivation only applies to us “wee people.” Our would-be “progressive” masters are exempt.

During the1970′s, during one of Carter’s Energy crises, I had to go to Philadelphia City Hall occasionally on business. During the winter it would be so hot as to be unbearable, at a time when we were all being scolded for using energy. Nothing with these people except their names.

Many Federal buildings don’t have power meters on them and it’s been so for many, many years and I don’t know why. I’m not sure what the payment structure is, but I would guess the Feds don’t care because they can’t monitor usage and those that have meters know that it’s the tax payer that’s footing the bill anyways.
I found this PDF to say as much. Page four (iv) top of the right hand column.
