The Democrats Had Their Chance To Pass A Budget! They Decided Not To!

This whole budget debate is getting on my last nerve. The Democrats controlled the House, the Senate and the Executive Branch last year. It was their job to pass a budget for FY2011. They chose not to. They controlled everything and could have rammed through whatever they wanted. Just look what they did with Obamacare. But they chose not to. Why? Because they were worried about the pending shellacking. And now they have the nerve to sit there and threaten government shut down, while calling House Republicans “extreme” for passing a budget with a mere $61 billion in spending cuts? These people are out of their minds. The media gives them cover. If the situation were reversed, the media would not stop reminding us which party failed to pass a budget.

I’ve been very patient with the Republicans and their leadership. But it’s getting to the point where I’m wondering what planet they live on. ABC News reports that they’ve negotiated a tentative deal with the party that failed to pass a budget. Why? The House passed a budget, after, I repeat, after the Democrats failed to pass a budget last year. Why are they negotiating? We’re on the brink of insolvency. My God, as Stacy pointed out, the Democrats have given up any hopes of taking back the House in 2012. Hello!?!?! The GOP has the perfect hand to play.

This is just getting ridiculous. Let the government shut down. The world will not come to an end. The military will be funded, Social Security checks will go out, you’ll still get your mail and life will go on. If the Republicans can’t even explain that it’s the Democrats’ fault, what good are they?

Enough is enough. It’s time to draw a line in the sand, and stop allowing the progressives to control the narrative. It’s time for the GOP leadership to listen to the newbies.
