The Wisconsin Public Employee Union is at it again – blackmailing businesses to do as they say, or else. This is definitely not how you go about winning over hearts and minds. Not to mention that it could be illegal.
JS Online reports that the union has sent letters to businesses in Wisconsin telling them to display signs in support of workers or the the unions will face boycotts by the union. [Emphasis mine]
Members of Wisconsin State Employees Union, AFSCME Council 24, have begun circulating letters to businesses in southeast Wisconsin, asking them to support workers’ rights by putting up a sign in their windows.
If businesses fail to comply, the letter says, “Failure to do so will leave us no choice but (to) do a public boycott of your business. And sorry, neutral means ‘no’ to those who work for the largest employer in the area and are union members.“
Even more disturbing is the fact that the police union is in on it. What kind of society are we living in when the police are engaging in this sort of behavior? It’s scary.
