President Obama failed to deliver an Easter proclamation or statement this year. And he wonders why people question his Christianity. But the White House did release a statement marking the importance of Earth Day.
Fox Nation picked up on the omission.
President Obama failed to release a statement or a proclamation recognizing the national observance of Easter Sunday, Christianity’s most sacred holiday.
By comparison, the White House has released statements recognizing the observance of major Muslim holidays and released statements in 2010 on Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, Hajj, and Eid-ul-Adha.
The White House also failed to release a statement marking Good Friday. However, they did release an eight-paragraph statement heralding Earth Day. Likewise, the president’s weekend address mentioned neither Good Friday or Easter.
However, the First Family did attend an Easter Sunday worship service at a Baptist church and last week, the president hosted an Easter breakfast for Christian ministers. In that gathering, the president spoke openly about the Christian faith.
And today, the president and first lady will host 30,000 people for the annual White House Easter Egg Roll. The secular celebration of Easter includes readings, games, and a yoga garden. This year’s theme, “Get Up and Go!” is part of the first lady’s anti-obesity campaign and will also display produce from the White House garden….
Last year he did make a statement about Easter, but felt the need to include Jews, Muslims, Hindus and atheists. He doesn’t extend the same courtesy to Christians when he praises Muslim holidays.
Update: When asked about Obama not releasing an Easter statement, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney scoffed at reporters. Figures.
Update II: The Camp of the Saints linked – thanks!
Update III: Linked by Maggie’s Notebook – thanks!

Zero is no friend to anyone but his “muslim brothers” who he “stands with”. Yesterday, his brothers exploded a jihad bomb outside of a Cathedral in Iraq.

I guess being a Christian is a requirement to be President now? Where in the Constitution does it say that? Do you morons plan this stuff or do you just make it all up as you go along?

The problem is not obama’s religion per se, it is the fact that obama lied again. Why would obama feel the need to lie to us about his religion? What is he hiding?
He said in his book “Dreams of my Father” that he would side with the muslims in a crisis. His obligation should be to the American people and our Constitution.
obama’s lack of Easter greetings for the American people is just one more example of who and what obama is…

Ronald Reagan never issued an Easter “proclamation” either. Neither did Bush The Elder or Bush the Minor. Neither did Clinton.
Seriously, you people need to get a grip. Judging by the previous comments on this thread, all hope may be lost for the conservative movement of Buckley and Goldwater. You are all a bunch of bigoted
xenophobes now.

No President – not one – in the history of this republic ever issued such a proclamation. You folks have gone nuts, and are completely unaware that you’ve done so. It’s sad.

Perhaps those other presidents didn’t see the need to commemorate Muslim holy days either. But once Obama started issuing statements doing that he was only looking for trouble ignoring Christian holy days. These people in the White House are political amateurs.

The following text is a Presidential Message for Easter 2007:
“Rejoice!” Matthew 28:9
Laura and I send greetings to all those celebrating the glorious Easter holiday.
The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the most important event of the Christian faith. Easter morning holds wonder and promise, and it is a chance for people everywhere to gather with family and friends to celebrate the power of love conquering death. In this season of renewal, we can rejoice in Christ’s rising, draw strength and inspiration from His example, and remember that in the end, even death itself will be defeated.
This Easter we pray for all our men and women in uniform and for the military families whose loved ones are deployed on important missions in distant lands. We remember especially those who have given their lives in freedom’s cause.
On this powerful day, let us join together and give thanks to the Almighty for the glory of His grace.
Happy Easter, and may God bless you.
GEORGE W. BUSH

I can google the one for 2006 for you too. If I work at it, I probably could find 8 of them.
