If you’ve turned on your TV this morning, no doubt you’ve seen the royal wedding. In case you missed it, here’s video of Prince William and Kate Middleton (now the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge) taking their vows. There’s no kiss at the church, that happened later, on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
The Queen announced their new titles:
The Queen has today been pleased to confer a Dukedom on Prince William of Wales. His titles will be Duke of Cambridge, Earl of Strathearn and Baron Carrickfergus.
Prince William thus becomes His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge and Miss Catherine Middleton on marriage will become Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge.

I didn’t have time to write much earlier because I was getting ready for work. I know it was a royal distraction – pun intended 
– as noted in the comments below. But it was a nice distraction, celebrating marriage. I’m a big fan. And also as noted below, it was a boost for the British economy. So it’s all good. I wish the couple a long and happy life. I wonder how long it will be until the press starts hounding them about having babies!

Aside from the terrific practical reality of having boosted Britain’s economy in a big way….. it was terribly nice to anticipate and focus on some nice fairy tale for just a few days! I admit it! Enjoyed it all and hope they can share a normal relationship. And now…back to the reality of surprising job losses (yesterday WAS Thursday) and Team Obama.
