The word of the day is Weinergate. There’s even a #WeinerGate hashtag on twitter. It all started when Rep. Anthony Weiner sent a tweet to a young lady with a link to a photo of a man’s groin wearing what appears to be a pair of boxer-briefs. Was it Weiner’s weiner inside those briefs? We don’t know, he says his facebook account was hacked. I suppose that could be the case if the two accounts are linked. The tweets in question and the yFrog photo have been deleted, but Big Government has a screen shot if you care to take a peek.
Since it’s a holiday weekend and kind of a slow news day, everybody’s blogging about Weiner’s weiner.
No Sheeples Here had a graphic all ready to go: “I photoshopped this graphic months ago just waiting for the right story to arise about New York Congressman Anthony Weiner so I could post it. Can you say schadenfreude? Of course, you can.” Heh!
The Jawa Report is paging Dr. Rusty Shackleford.
Ironic Surrealism has more screenshots, including the young woman who received the tweet, Gennette Nicole Cordova, who recently referred to Rep. Weiner as her boyfriend.

Doug Ross notes how if it really was Weiner tweeting shots of his weiner the media will give him a pass and he’ll win his next election.
Sister Toldjah points out that it isn’t uncommon for a twitter account to get hacked. (Through what I’m sure were howls of laughter.)
Gateway Pundit wonders what Megyn Kelly must think of this.
Fausta doesn’t know who’s a bigger boob – Weiner or Meghan McCain. (I’d have to go with the weiner, since he has a vote in congress.)
RB at the Right Sphere doesn’t believe the claim that the facebook account was hacked.
Of course, Stacy McCain is all over this story, and Mediaite and Gawker look at all possible scenarios, including some right wing conspiracy started by Andrew Breitbart.
I just wonder what Mrs. Weiner thinks of all of this.
Update: Ace of Spades reminds us that Rep. Weiner is Meghan McCain’s favorite Democrat. LOL!

Update 3: There’s much more here. What’s interesting is that the woman, Gennette Nicole, deleted her twitter account and her facebook account as soon as this came out. If it was just the case of an innocent hacking, why would she do that? And why would Weiner delete all of his yFrog photos instead of just the offending (literally) photo?
Update 4: Red State has even more on how it’s highly unlikely that Weiner’s account was hacked. My guess is he thought he was sending a direct message, which would be private, and sent a regular old tweet instead. Tweets are visible to anyone unless the user’s tweets are protected.

We were at my son’s baseball games most of the day. We stopped home before heading out to a pool party, that’s when I saw it first. At that time only a few had commented on it. I was just so glad they didn’t serve hot dogs at the party. By the time I got home the story had gone viral. Too funny.
