President Obama will visit Cree LED Light Company Monday based in North Carolina tomorrow to talk about jobs. Cree received a $39 million tax credit through Porkulus. While the company did create some jobs here in the US, they also are creating jobs in China. How nice, the government borrows money from China, gives some of it to companies like Cree, so they can create jobs in China.
The Daily Caller has the story:
The company began developing clean energy technology, hired a few more hundred workers, and the administration touted it as a “true American success story” on the White House Web site.
Then in late 2010, the company opened its first plant in Huizhou City,China. That made Cree the first global LED company to locate a manufacturing plant in China.
But that plant is only beginning of an expansion in China, says Swoboda. At the opening of the plant, Swoboda boasted that more than 50 percent of Cree’s employees live and work in China.
Something tells me the president won’t mention the 600 American workers who lost their jobs thanks to his administration’s ruinous environmental regulations.

seriously what is there here to complain about? That cree is apparently successful? That they’re growing in two countries? Or is it just that they make a superior technology than your strangely beloved incandescent bulbs?
