Paul Krugman wants news organizations to completely censor out any views that disagree with his. He complained that the media is too balanced in its coverage of the debt ceiling debate, a debate in which President Obama is a “moderate conservative.” He wants them to knock it off, and knock it off now. He actually described shutting up conservatives as a moral issue, while indicating he thinks most Americans are morons.
So what do most news reports say? They portray it as a situation in which both sides are equally partisan, equally intransigent — because news reports always do that. …
What all this means is that there is no penalty for extremism; no way for most voters, who get their information on the fly rather than doing careful study of the issues, to understand what’s really going on…And yes, I think this is a moral issue.
I wish we could censor Paul Krugman, doing so would make the world a better place. But this is the United States and he has every right to spew his drivel. Even if it is complete nonsense.
I’m not sure what news reports Krugman has been watching, but the ones we’ve been monitoring at NewsBusters concerning this matter have been anything but balanced.
The take for weeks has been that taxes must be raised to solve this problem and that it is the Republicans – and, in particular, Tea Party freshmen in the House – that are refusing to “compromise.”
A new Media Research Center study on this issue found that ABC, CBS, and NBC have consistently cast the GOP as the villains in this debate. …
It’s a good thing Democrats no longer control the House, otherwise they’d probably run with this idea and pass a law.

The left is just bitter because they don’t have a monopoly on information flow like they used to, when there were only three major news networks. Now there is talk radio, the internet and fox news. They are pro-choice on abortion, but against choice when it comes to where you get your information from, where you get your healthcare from, where you send your kids to school, what kind of car you drive, and what kind of food you eat.

I understand Krugman’s problem. An ideology that has at its core teh idea that the public exist to be fleeced is not one that can hold up well to public discourse or careful scrutiny. How else can the kleptocracy that Krugman and his people depend upon for their livelihoods be protected?
I’m surprised he hasn’t become even more nasty about it. Other socialists like the Bolsheviks and Nazis were willing to have millions of people killed to protect their privileged status.
