Some people just have their heads in the sand. They don’t know any better thanks to this ridiculous culture of ours and the media/entertainment complex that’s happy to keep them uninformed. When reading news like this, I wish I could just stick my head in the sand and be ignorant. I’d get more sleep. Oh, but it’s not to be. But I can’t suffer alone, so I share with you the news that our Dear Leader will use our hard earned dollars to campaign in battleground states.
Bend over, America!
President Barack Obama’s upcoming bus tour through the Midwest states typically viewed as swing states during presidential election years will be paid for by the taxpayers, the White House says.
Obama will start the tour on Aug. 15 and will talk about strengthening jobs and the economy, the White House announced on Tuesday.
“He is very happily getting out into the country again after a very sustained period here in Washington and he looks forward to talking to folks about growing the economy, creating jobs,” said White House Press Secretary Jay Carney. “We will have more details, as I said, about the specifics of the trip.”

Update: Now for a little pick-me-up, read Fred Barnes piece in The Wall Street Journal. Nancy Pelosi is in agony. If her agony is extreme it means we’re on the right path.

I actually can’t find it in my heart to pick on Obama for this. I don’t know of a politician of any stripe who wouldn’t do the same if they could. Actually, most do, to some degree or another.

Really? When was the last “Presidential Bus Tour”? I think I missed it. Any idea what it costs to buy one of those buses? Any idea what it costs to paint one with Barack Obama slogans? Any idea what the security will entail for a bus driving across the country (we are sure Barack will follow in Air Force One, but the bus will still have to have great security)? Isn’t it “interesting” that the place Barack decides to talk about jobs just happens to be the “swing states” for his campaign? Coincidence?
Obama has spent several tours in the Midwest talking about jobs. The only thing that has happened is that jobs have been lost everywhere he speaks, after he speaks.
While everyone might go out to dinner once or twice a week, when a family hits the skids with a huge debt looming over them – it becomes prudent to stop going out to dinner – especially if they are trying to set an example and want to teach about “shared sacrifice”. Get it?
