Jane Jamison, who founded the blog Uncoverage, died over the weekend. She was a great writer and voice for conservatives. She and I never met, but we did communicate once or twice by email and through links. The last post written was on August 26, indicating there was a family emergency.
According to Stacy McCain and John Hawkins, Jane Jamison was a pseudonym, she wanted to keep her identity to herself as she was a very private person. It probably made life a lot less complicated since she lived in San Francisco. Stacy also indicated that Dell Hill will continue writing at Uncoverage, so the excellent blog she started will live on. But it’s still so sad, her contribution to the cause of restoring this republic will be sorely missed.
My condolences go out to her family and loved ones.
Update: Fleming and Hayes honored this great woman.

It is sad, isn’t it? It’s weird, in a nice kind of way, how so many strangers with a common cause now feel even more connected to each other thanks to the internet. Even though most of us have never met, we feel like we know each other.
The reason I love CPAC is that it’s a great venue to meet in person so many people you only know online, or on TV. Life is so short, and you never know when your time is going to come. So I think I’ll do my best to make it there every year, if for no other reason than to meet some more fine people in person. Unfortunately, I never got the chance to meet Jane.

hello. i just recently heard about “jane’s” passing and wanted to share some things about her. “jane’s” birth name was Joni Pugh. she grew up in Hoffman Estates, IL. i worked with her in Omaha in 1978-79 at a radio station. from there she moved to a local TV station, then out to the bay area. while in Omaha she went by the name Joni Hoffman. her last legal name was Joni Wolf. while attempting to get to the bottom of how she died and when (it is rumored to be a suicide), i found a disturbing court document from July of this year, Contra Costa County, that revealed Joni to be a freeloader content to living off her ex-husband for years after their divorce while refusing to find work. near the end of her step-down spousal support payments, she found work as a paralegal (she was NOT a lawyer, just a lawyer’s assistant). this type of behavior and charade was not the Joni i worked with 30 some years ago. we reconnected online about a year ago, right before she got fired from the law firm last year. i lost track of her until hearing of her passing. apparently she lost motivation to be self-sufficient and financially independent and kept going back to court for more spousal support. she may have had followers and admirers in the blog world but it appeared she lead a double life and was a very unhappy person. i don’t know where or when things went wrong for her but read the court doc for yourself and learn more about the life she hid from most of us: http://www.courtinfo.ca.gov/opinions/nonpub/A128509.DOC

I had the pleasure of befriending “Jane” many years ago. The world has lost a very beautiful, vibrant and loving person. Although this blog became a significant part of her life, it was a mere fragment of her “professional body of work”. She was loved by those who knew “HER” and she will be never be forgotten!
