Here’s another reason for Republican candidates to run on conservative principles – conservatives now outnumber moderates and liberals in the US. I doubt moderates are turned off by messages of fiscal responsibility and free markets, so a strong conservative massage is the way to go.

Conservatives are the intelligent voters, the others are stuck in the ditch with their retro views of a welfare society!
Those notions were old and tired in the 1970s, and are used as retred arguements in the current decade.
Their message is broke, and it cannot be fixed!
