The Iowa caucuses are a little early this year, but it sure doesn’t feel like it. The Republican nominating contest seems like it’s been going on forever. Now the voters will finally have their say.
Rick Santorum and his family feel like their prayers have been answered. He’s poised to finish in the top three, and could surprise everyone with an upset win. And his campaign is prepared to go forward after Iowa.
Most observers expect Santorum to finish in the top three, but the polls are sufficiently volatile that few are willing to risk a firm prediction. However high Santorum surges Tuesday night, his campaign is prepared to carry their newfound momentum forward from Iowa. While Santorum has campaigned tirelessly in the Hawkeye State, he has not ignored New Hampshire — home state of his campaign manager, veteran Republican operative Mike Biundo — and also has built a strong grassroots organization in South Carolina. Several members of Santorum’s South Carolina team have come to Iowa to aid in the final push here, and one of them told me during an event Monday, “I’m laughing at all the media that keeps saying Rick doesn’t have any organization in South Carolina. He’s campaigned in South Carolina more than any other candidate has.… All we needed was a spark, and it looks like we got one.” (Read More)
Now that Newt Gingrich is sliding in the polls it looks like his claws are coming out. He’s a bit sour about the attack ads airing against him. Maybe he shouldn’t have given his opponents so much ammunition. Just saying.
Fox News has the run down on the rest of the field. Things are certainly getting interesting. Also, If you’re wondering just what the heck happens in a caucus – here’s a primer.

I guess I’m just politically flawed, there has been no doubt in my mind from the start of this circus who I would wish to have in the whitehouse if I truly desired a change from the status quo.
It seems people really enjoy telling themselves they want change but are either lying to themselves or most probably unable to grasp the notion that have change you must have a candidate that actually believes in change, and not just dressing up the same old crap in a fresh new hat.
Sadly, as always, the people are willing to let the media cast their vote for them by turning this debacle into a popularity contest, touting as most electable that candidate who would be most beneficial to them, the left leaning media.
Unless I am pleasantly surprised, we will have another great yes candidate emerge successful, yes to big government, yes to the rape and ruin of the constitution, yes to the nullification of the bill of rights, yes to more bureaucratic interference in our every day lives.
Just my opinion, take it and $2.00 and you might be able to buy a cup of coffee.
