Delusional Debbie Wasserman Schultz Claims Majority of Americans Support Obamacare

Despite poll after poll finding that a majority of Americans want to see Obamacare repealed, delusional Debbie Wasserman Schultz continues to claim that the people like this awful law. Here’s a transcript of the MSNBC segment, via Weasel Zippers:

JANSING: Well, let me ask you about some of the more specifics of this debate. The question has been in this election, you couldn’t watch that debate and not see it. They went after the President on health care law, on immigration. there’s a new Quinnipiac poll out today that shows voters say we should overturn the health care law, 64% say they support Arizona’s tough immigration law. Are you worried about those kinds of numbers and the President might be on the wrong side of those issues?
DWS: Well, if you didn’t know. If you dig down and ask whether Americans think that insurance companies should be able to drop them or deny them coverage for pre-existing conditions, they say no, overwhelmingly. If you dig down and ask them if they think young adults should be able to stay on their parents’ insurance until they’re 26, they say, yes, they should. If you ask seniors whether they think the donut hole should be reopened and that coverage gap in prescription drug to medicare should be remain open, they say, no, of course not. Health care reform when you ask americans about them, they overwhelmingly support them and that is exactly what the republicans on the stage last night would repeal and go back to putting the insurance industry in charge of our health care decisions. And to add insult to injury, they would tell women what we have to do with our bodies and control when and whether we could have a family by not allowing us access to contraception without a co-pay and without a deductible. that’s why I say the one-word application to that field is extreme.

The last sentence is beyond the pale. She’s not only delusional, she’s a liar. Allowing religious organizations to be exempt from PAYING FOR SOMETHING they find morally objectionable is not denying access. Anyone is free to go out and purchase contraception. It’s not expensive and it’s readily available. The Democrats want to give it out for free, while forcing others to pay for it. That’s just wrong. And here I am, paying a $40 copay every time I see my orthopedist or go to physical therapy, and paying for the birth control of others through my high premiums. I’m not complaining about co-payments, but I need a functioning wrist and hand to avoid a permanent impairment. I don’t need birth control.

As for putting decisions in the hands of health insurers, maybe if the government got out of the insurance business the market would find a way to bring the price of health care under control.

This woman is very intelligent and in touch. All you hateful, right-wing men on here just can’t stand the thought of a woman owning her own body and choices, being educated, having power, and speaking her mind with facts and knowledge. Birth eontrol SHOULD be free, available, and provided for all people and funded by taxes. No woman should be forced to get pregnant and have a child she doesn’t want, isn’t ready for, and can’t provide for. If a woman is made to get pregnant and keep a child she cannot support that becomes a welfare issue. She is forced on govt assistance programs and so is her child..for life, and there is nothing she can do because she is trapped. Paying one time for an IUD or Implanon, or paying for her to get her tubes tied, is much cheaper in the long run. Fluke said already that it costs the average female student over 3k during her college career to buy her own birth control. Well, most women in college can’t afford that. Most are getting loans and grants just to barely make it. Most college students are struggling and living near the poverty line. So the right-wing option is to make these young women get pregnant, and have to drop out of school and leave their education behind. Denying the world of future brilliant mind that would have contributed and progressed society. However, the right demeans and dismisses women and think education is harmful to women. They also think a woman’s place is to just get married, have kids, slave away in the kitchen forever…not necassarily in the order either. So long as she doesn’t do better than a man, is all the sexist pigs on the right care about. Contraception, emergency contraception, AND abortion should ALL be free, and available on demand on every college campus and in various clinics in every city. There should be NO shame attached to it, no woman should feel like she has to overly explain herself, defend herself, make an excuse or lie about it. She shouldn’t have to sneak around to get it and hide and make a cover up story. She shouldn’t have to stress about how it will be paid for and then back out because of the initial cost…and then be forced to be a parent before she is wanting, willing, and able. Until Obamacare is in full effect, and we have good socialized medicine in this country like all other nations do, privte health insurance companies and employers should be regulated by the govt and made to pay 100% for a woman’s birth control option, as well as emergency contraception, and her abortion if she chooses.No questions asked. No referral. No need for pre-certification and waiting. It just should be covered totally, and without hassel or forcing a woman to beg for what she wants to do with her own body and life. That includes making the Catholic church pay for it for women who work for the church and are on the church’s insuance plans. Of course Catholic priests say they are against that idea, of course the cardinals and the bishops and the whatever they are, are all against that. They are all celebate and (many of them) gay men. Those who are not gay men, are pedophiles. So of course, they never will have a need for birth control and abortion. Men should never be allowed to make contraceptive and family planning choices for women, ever. I don’t see one woman having one iota of any sort of power , AT ALL, in any position or at any level, AT ALL, in Catholicism. So it is easy for the Catholics church to say it stands firm against abortion and birth control, and forbids it for “its” women. There isn’t any woman on any sort of panel or commitee or chair that can speak out otherwise and be a voice for Catholic women, who probably for the majority, disagree with the Catholic’s view on birth control. It is easy to kick around women and give their concerns , needs, and opinions the shaft when you totally opress them, and use fear to regress them and hold them back. When was the last time the Catholic church did a survery and poll of “its” women? When was the last time they ever asked a Catholic woman her opinion about her life choices? Never. Instead , they send priests in place to be a voice for contraception and the Catholic view…male priests. Men should never be allowed to ever be in that position of power and women’s choices, EVER! This is 2012, and women are still being put in a situation where they have nearly have no say over their own lives and be able to decide when they are ready, if ever, to start a family and with the man they decide to start with. Women have a mind, they have the right to use it to make sound, logicial, reasonable choices. Women are still made to feel ashamed if they enjoy their own sexuality and lifestyle, and made to feel ashamed if they make a choice about ending a mistake or preventing it. If you can’t trust a woman with a choice,then how can you trust her with a child? Obama 2012. We are the 99%!!!!
