According to Politico, Democrat governors are “gleeful” that Republicans keep talking about social issues. They say this means Republicans want to send us all back to the Dark Ages.
“I think we’re returning to the dark ages. What? We’re discussing the legitimacy of birth control in this country? That discussion, I thought, had ended 30 years ago,” said term-limited Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer, who dubbed the four Republican presidential candidates “Christmas packages under the tree.” (Read More)
Which party is it that wants EPA regulations that will cause rolling blackouts? Which party wants us driving around in little death traps to save us from global warming? Which party wants to bring us into a dark age of communism. These guys are too much. Oh, and they’re the same ones who want to send us back to a time before there was a constitution.
And nobody is talking about the “legitimacy of birth control.” Anyone is free to go out and buy their birth control any time they want it. What a load of BS.

It’s nice to see that they are so easily amused!
In another month, if gas prices continue to go up, they may pray for another cheap shot opportunity!
What draws more negative votes, social issues or Jimmy Carter style inflation at about 20%?

There is a SCOTUS decision that said a women has a right to birth control. This was the Griswold v. The State of Connecticut which said a women has a “right to privacy” thus has a right to contraceptives.
This is a non-issue.

Yes.
The courts have settled this issue that a women has a right to contraceptives and with Roe V. Wade also has the right to an abortion. Any politician who would actually come out against either one is probably toast.
Republicans have not come out against contraceptives only the fact the Obama administration is forcing businesses to provide insurerance for contraceptives.
But as zorro has said in a later comment the dumb a$$es in the Republican party have allowed the Dems to frame the issue in their terms which is the evil GOPers are trying to take birth control away from women.

The problem is that AGAIN the GOP has let the Dems frame the debate in their terms. No Republican is saying that anybody should not have contraception. Hey Dummies, its a matter of who pays for it, who is responsible for their own lives. When Obama says that all girls must wear green dresses the dumb Republicans will let the Dems accuse them of saying they want girls to be naked if they disagree, and that will be the topic, not the freedom of the girls to wear what they please. Can hear Chris Matthews now; Mean, female-hating Republicans want girls freezing naked in the snow. Kill the mean Republicans!
