Historic Number of People Have Left the Labor Market

This morning when I heard the news that the official unemployment rate dropped to 8.3%, I wondered how many people dropped out of the labor market. I wasn’t expecting it to be a whopping 1.2 million. Yes, that’s right, 1.2 million.

Zero Hedge has the details [emphasis original]:

A month ago, we joked when we said that for Obama to get the unemployment rate to negative by election time, all he has to do is to crush the labor force participation rate to about 55%. Looks like the good folks at the BLS heard us: it appears that the people not in the labor force exploded by an unprecedented record 1.2 million. No, that’s not a typo: 1.2 million people dropped out of the labor force in one month! So as the labor force increased from 153.9 million to 154.4 million, the non institutional population increased by 242.3 million meaning, those not in the labor force surged from 86.7 million to 87.9 million. Which means that the civilian labor force tumbled to a fresh 30 year low of 63.7% as the BLS is seriously planning on eliminating nearly half of the available labor pool from the unemployment calculation.

Be sure to read the whole thing, and check out the disturbing charts. Remember it when Obama comes out and tells us his policies are helping the economy.

“Remember it when Obama comes out and tells us his policies are helping the economy.”

    Close…

Remember whem Obama opens his mouth – he’s lying.

His actions do not match his words. That makes his words false. Thats called lying.

He knows he is lying, he is doing it with malice aforethought. He lies to us all because he must… He knows that the truth would destroy him, his comrades and all their plans.

His lies come naturally. He is used to lying and believes that lying a justifiable strategy to reach his goals. Lying gives him comfort because truth makes him uneasy. He lies to us because he believes us all to be pliable fools and unthinking simpletons.

It amuses him to see so many swallow his lies. You can see it in his eyes.

The man would not recognize or understand truth. He believes that everybody else lies as much as he does. If you told him the truth, he would assume it was a lie. Truth is as alien to him as he is to us.

Remember: If his mouth is moving, he’s lying. Lying is in his character, his makeup, his blood.

And the really sad part about it all, he knows it. He lies willingly and easily. It is not a compulsion. He lies because it is far easier to lie than to tell the truth.

He’s a liar, not to be trusted or believed.

The Fed should change the line on our money where it says “In God We Trust.” It should say: “In God We Trust, not that liar Obama”.

When the truth doesn’t work, artfully arrange the numbers to support a new truth!

Maybe we need an internet movement to encourage any conservative that knows of anyone out of work to insure those individuals are registered with their state employment office as someone looking for work.

If you are out of work and you don’t put your name on the list as looking for work, you are only helping B O since the employment numbers appear to be improving when they are not.

1.28 million people dropped out of the labor force in one month.
2 million fewer jobs available in one month.
He is sabotaging our Republic, Constitution, legal citizens and future generations.

Looks like the 1.2 million number is just due to a population adjustment as The American Spectator explains here: http://spectator.org/blog/2012/02/03/participation-rate-issue-less
