Former Rep. Dan Maffei wants his old job back and is planning to run against Rep. Ann Marie Buerkle in the next election. Congresswoman Buerkle reminds us of what Maffei had to say about the stimulus bill, AKA Porkulus, before the last election.
Today marks the 3rd anniversary of Nancy Pelosi and Dan Maffei’s failed $800 billion stimulus spending binge being signed into law.
Dan Maffei, in an interview last election, said this about the stimulus:
“Okay, maybe the recovery bill wasn’t everything that it could have been. But that doesn’t mean that we’re not going to try and keep trying until we get it right.”
It’s safe to say that first part is an understatement.
Our nation has a spending problem. As of today, we now stand at more than $15.3 trillion in debt. Almost $5 trillion of that debt has been added since President Obama took office.
This President promised repeatedly to cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term. Instead, we’ve been subjected to four straight years with budget deficits of over $1 trillion each.
That’s some record, it left us with scary deficit charts like this one. The Democrats admit they have no plan to bring the national debt under control. They just don’t like the GOP plan. Dan Maffei is one of them, he’s a big spending liberal who once proudly proclaimed he’s a Keynesian. He wanted to “keep going” until they got it right. What’s that supposed to mean, other than he wanted to spend even more?
Conservatives should contribute to Buerkle’s campaign to stop this guy from winning another election. He needs a new career.
