What more do you need to know about the Obama economy than this? NBC New York reports that the NYC welfare office is on a hiring spree. Way to go Obama!
Economic woes have forced at least one city agency into a hiring spree – adding more workers to process the demand for food stamps and other assistance.
The Human Resources Administration added more than 100 workers last July and plans to hire another 100 to serve the burgeoning number of New Yorkers applying for food stamps and rent assistance at their offices,according to the Daily News.
About 1.8 million New Yorkers are now on food stamps, which marks nearly a 65 percent increase from four years ago, according to city records. The increase in applicants has led to overcrowding at HRA offices throughout the city, and the agency said at a council hearing Tuesday that it had to hire scores of new workers and supervisors to manage the situation.
The HRA has also expanded its waiting rooms to accommodate the swell in applicants. (Read More)

Typical sound bite sugar treats from the government that is intended to juice everyone. But fact is that is not a real job in the sense of job creation. Government jobs don’t count as they are not part of the gdp.
I saw his statement about loosening the rules on getting a loan for a house. Sheer vote getting attempt and you’re right, it’s what got us here to begin with.

There are worthless jobs offered to questionable people! Wholesale offerings in a government setting is a traditional formula for corruption!
During the 2010 national census period, Obama hired on 100s of people to conduct the census.
During this time, the new hires dud not engage in their job.
I’m personally aware of this, because I did not send in the form. It was misplaced. The extra workers were hired to knock doors and gather the information!
In 2000, under Bush, I was personally contacted and my household information collected. This never happened in 2010!
Perhaps the workers used my 2000 information, or maybe my information was reported as collected, but did not happen!
This gives me the ultimate impression of incompetence on the part of government jobs programs under Obama.
