ObamaCare and the Lucrative Business of Euthanasia

The debate over ObamaCare and the use of euthanasia must focus on the aspect of profitability. If ObamaCare is to succeed in the long-term, there must be new revenue streams developed to help fund the program. One blatant reality is euthanasia allows for organ harvesting when a disabled, elderly, or depressed person is put down for the benefit of enriching the human organ supply line.  The bottom line is, organs are in high demand and euthanasia represents a highly lucrative revenue stream for the merchants of death. See: “Santorum more right than wrong about Dutch euthanasia” (Daily Caller, 2012). Author Wesley Smith is an authority on the Dutch euthanasia law.

Smith explains why the official Dutch euthanasia count is artificially low:

“Wait, there’s more: Dutch doctors also kill patients by intentionally overdosing them with pain killers. I am not referring here to death caused as a side effect of legitimate pain control, but overdosing with the intent of causing death. The exact number of these deaths isn’t known, but the authoritative 1990 government study known as the Remmelink Report found that there were 8,100 deaths from intentional opioid overdose, of which 61% were done without the request or consent of patients. Now, add in, say, half of the nearly 10% of deaths that occur after Dutch doctors place patients into artificial comas and deny them food and water — that is, those cases in which palliative sedation is not medically necessary to control otherwise irremediable suffering — and we see that Santorum’s claim of a 10% euthanasia rate isn’t materially overstated at all.”

Republican presidential contender, Rick Santorum, stumbled into a fire storm of opposition by mentioning the Dutch law that provides for euthanasia. The Dutch and the liberal press have been quick to engage in the hysterical art of Santorum bashing.

However, for the informed citizen to see through the fog of propaganda there must be information available to refute this misinformation campaign. The bottom line is, organ harvesting has a new friend: euthanasia. See: “Legalizing euthanasia or assisted suicide: the illusion of safeguards and controls,” (Current Oncology Online of Canada, 2011). This article exposes the use of “legal exception” to allow for the relaxing of euthanasia standards to the levels described by Santorum.

The article reveals:

“Originally, it was the view of the Supreme Court of the Netherlands, the Royal Dutch Medical Association, and the ministers of Justice and Health that euthanasia would not be an option in situations in which alternative treatments were available but the patient had refused them. When this view conflicted with the accepted ethical principle that patients are allowed to refuse a treatment option, the law was altered to allow access to euthanasia even if the person refused another available option such as palliative or psychiatric care. One consequence of the change is that, the appropriateness of suicide prevention programs may begin to be questioned, because people wanting to commit suicide should, on the basis of autonomy and choice, have the same rights as those requesting euthanasia. “

While the Dutch refer to the original law, the nation’s Supreme Court has greatly expanded the definition of the program.

The danger exposed herein is that as public policy is changed, the law is relaxed to allow for more an open euthanasia policy.

To expand the argument, we must realize that there are other players involved in the game of euthanasia or as it is phrased in Oregon, physician assisted suicide. In addition to Holland, the new player is Belgium which now has a law allowing euthanasia.

In an article published in the Daily Mail Online, “Organs of people killed by euthanasia being ‘harvested for transplant surgery in Belgium,’ exposes the darker side of the euthanasia process:

“The paper showed about 23.5 per cent of lung transplant donors and 2.8 per cent of heart transplant donors are killed by euthanasia.

Mr Van Raemdonck insisted doctors were acting within Belgian guidelines on euthanasia, which was legalised in 2002.”

This revelation conjures up memories of the US abortion law, Roe v. Wade, and the human rights issue of using the stem cells from aborted fetuses in medical procedures.

Under ObamaCare, it appears that both human organ harvesting from euthanized patients and stem cell research from aborted fetuses will provide huge revenue streams for the “astute” management programs that will be beneficiaries of human tissue marketing programs.

Of what value is an organ from a 70-year-old body that has been ravaged by disease, then chemo therapy, radiation, powerful drugs devoloped from poisons, mal-nourished by decades of poor eating habits and then cut out of a corpse?

In my view, useful organs come only from twenty-somethings that drove their car into a brick wall, or over a cliff, or ate a .357 slug for breakfast.

If a doctor were to take an organ from some diseased, abused and chemically saturated 70-year-old body and sewed it up in yours?

    That’s medical malpratice!

And anybody tryng to profit from that is a criminal.

The Dutch and Belgium laws allow for disabled people and youth to be euthenized for any number of reasons including depression and loss of will to live. While many find this repulsive, others see opportunity for organ harvesting.

Joseph Hall talks about propaganda in The Netherlands. We might not be able to see what is actually going on in our own country, he says. And he cites economic reasons and ‘organ harvesting’ as the main causes of the horrific laws and practices in that ultra-liberal country of ours. Can someone please explain to me why the 10th richest country in the world would even need to kill off its elderly and sick? Can Joseph inform me where all these harvested organs went? The suggestion, between the lines, that some fundamentalists are putting out there, that hospitals in The Netherlands are no better than Mengele’s operating rooms, is utterly repulsive, very insulting, and above all, no more than a blatant lie. There is not a single incentive for doctors, financial, governmental or otherwise, to euthanize anyone. The only reason for any doctor to assist in euthanasia, is compassion for the patient, and only if the patient has clearly stated his will in this respect.

I guess that no American doctor ever sticks that second morphine-band-aid on a patient to reduce the pain. I guess all American doctors will ALWAYS, without exception, refuse that second band-aid, as it will speed up the dying process of the patient. I guess all American doctor ALWAYS prefer to prolongue the patient’s life to the max, just to see the intolerable painful suffering. Or not? My guess is that Americans have just no clue about the number of euthanasia cases in the USA. Euthanasia is an American practice, just as it is in any country with advanced medicine.

Nice jibber jabber, euthanasia is no big deal in the Netherlands and Belgium. The EU has been openly critical of the easy death policies of your country for 10 years.
The EU’s biggest complaint is that anyone from any other EU country can easily travel to Holland and be euthanized the same day, just by stating that they are too depressed to continue living! There are no citizenship or age requirements for the Dutch final solution!
This is why other EU countries have been asking the Parliament of the Netherlands to require that a person must meet citizenship and minimum times for euthanasia performance to protect their citizens from being slaughtered by an unscrupulous euthanasia law!
My Dutch friends are quite proud of their liberal law and I’m quite sure you are too when you are not grandstanding!

Would you rather have the GOVERNMENT cutting off your treatment or denying it all together???
